Hello all,

I want to perchance swift car and I have short listed Swift Vxi(Petrol) and Swift Vdi(diesal). I have a confusion, which one to buy.

I will be using this for daily around 20-25 km. I may keep the car for around 4 to 5 years or more.

plz tell me which one would be best suitable for me Petrol or Diesal ? here which one would be more economic ?

Thanks
Prakash

Well around 700 km per month doesn't warrent a diesel car...but you never know when your trips get extended...making your monthly run to nearly 1000... if that is the case then go with VDI ... but if you think what you have stated is the max possible mileage then go for VXI.

I also second Amit's opinion. In other words, to recover additional cost of Rs. 1 Lacs on Swift Diesel, you need to clock minimum around 60,000 kms in 5 years time. If that kind of run is not expected, better go for VXi. But please note there are news floating around that Swift petrol will have new engine (KB series of Ritz) and please cross check with your dealer.

If   you will keep the car for more than 5 years, can go for vdi.

And as said by amit,in future your run may increase,in that case, diesel will be more economical.

I think price difference between the two is not 1 lacs, its less (70k or so)

also have a look at: diesel vs petrol isn't saving the only reason go through the thread.

It is what we think we know already that often prevents us from learning.
