Dear Pankaj-ji , Don't you think that new Zen Estilo with K-series Engine, will serve most of the purposes of Ms. Rama Jyoti.. It will be bit cheaper to buy compared to Ritz / I-10 and will have more space compared to A*. Further it will have bit more F.E. than Ritz / I-10. As mentioned earlier if Maruti handles few issues and pricing well, with current estilo, it will kill Spark & A*'s market.. That's what I feel...

That's a good idea to wait for new Estilo & decide/compare with the other two (cost/mileage).

Hi Pankaj and Bhavin,

After long thinking, we have decided to go for Ritz vdi. When we spoke to the dealer he told that with 2 months waiting he can give swift vdi if we are interested. What could be the best among swift vdi and ritz vdi? May i go ahead and take ritz or change my option to swift?

Please suggest. I have already paid booking amount and told them that i will tell my decision on ritz or swift in a day or two.

Thanks... Jyothi

Ritz also offers a little more space/comfort.  It will return better mileage too (say by 1-1.5 kms).

Hey Rama...Congrats on your decision to buy a car...my only question to you is did you test drive the swift and ritz on the same day .. ? Now that you have already booked Ritz very little can be done about it ... by no means is Ritz a bad car .. It has fresh looks and latest technology..I test drove the Ritz and Swift on the same day day and honestly I found the swift to be rock solid at high speeds...the difference was evident to me ..Swift to me is a better car than Ritz ( Except for the FE )..!

Ritz offers more space, better refined BSIV engine, better interior, brand new model and minimal waiting period. More over every 3rd or 4th car on the road is swift.

And Swift has the style factor. So it's choice of style and sense

Hi Siddarth and Bijs,

Thanks for your points. we test drove both of the vehicles one by one. Felt more comfort in ritz in terms of space and gear box handling. Also my husband says swift became regular.. so we need fresh looks.. That's the reason we thought os going for ritz. but we told the dealer that we will confirm in 2 days..

Hello all!

I would like to add two points.

1. Diesel may not be a very good choice for 25 Km per day, due to high initial investment and higher maintenance cost. It is true that the new diesel engines do not give any problems unlike the old ones, but still the running cost (except fuel) is higher (filter, oil change etc). Experts recommed diesel if the usage is 100Km or more per day (or at least 50Km per day). Also, whatever manufacturers claim, diesel engine can never be as smooth as a petrol engine due to the higher compression ratio of the former.

2. Automatic models are becoming more and more popular for city use since many are suffering from left foot pain due to contiuous clutch usage. Earleir automatic models were not favoured, due to poor mileage. However, the new models are heard to be giving better mileage (of course, lesser than manual). Astar and i10 has automatic models.

After lot of thinking I booked Ritx Zxi (since I needed back wiper+defogger, ABS and factory fitted keyless entry). Ritz is definitely a great car in terms of driving comfort (especially for tall people like me).

Tomy
