My Alloy wheel size is 14x6 - 6" width. PCD is 4x100 & Offset is 30, should have been 38. I have gone for 6" width alloys coz after some enquiry, I have come to know that 195 tyres fit better in 6" alloys than 5.5, i really dont know how it makes any difference if we install 195 on 5.5 width alloys.

And coming to tyres touching the shocks, Iam still not sure whether its really touching or its just my feeling, but i felt it from front wheel, no prob with rear tyres touching even with 5 adults in car. The front tyre touching the suspension is with me alone driving, coz there is just 1.5 inch difference between tyre & shocks, and i think the inner corner part of tyre touches the shocks slightly only when we drive the car over speed breakers suddenly or if we are making the front part bounce too much or if the shocks are compressing too much, only then it touches. else its fine. I think if we stick to offset 38-45 or keeping the alloy width to 5.5 inches, this problem should not be there. Need to do some more research on this.

@ amartya, are you getting the same noise in your front tires like dpsharma in his i20?

well, when on a high speed, if I get a bumper and I have to break suddenly, sometimes the wheel hits the fender/mud-guard may be. these are one-off incidents. I have seen that happening even on cars like wagon R. otherwise I get no other problems.....as such!

Guys, I've completed the makeover of my i20.

Bought Ducun branded multi-spoke hard chrome alloy wheels for Rs.15800/-

The shop owner asked me to drop the idea of C-Drives because he told me that Yokohama tires get uneven wear after 10,000 kms and it starts giving noise.

So, as per his advise I bought Bridgestone Potenza RE88 195/60R15 88V for Rs.17,000/-

As per bridgestone's site, it is a perfect make for high-speed vehicles. Potenza RE88 is designed for the speed capabilities of 210 kms/hr (H Rating) and above.
Four main grooves and lateral grooves provide high wet/dry handling with high manoeuvrability and quiet ride.

I exchanged my stock tires + rims + wheel covers for Rs.13000/-

So, I paid Rs.19,800/-

I'll post the pics soon.

Let me clear a question with fellow members who have upgraded the tire.

Hyundai voids the warranty for suspension once the tire is upgraded. Now as everyone knows, Hyundai i20 suffers with serious steering rattle issue. There is high chances of Hyundai A.S.S blaming upgraded tire for the incident.

How will you guys cope with this issue?

P.S: I don't want anyone to get affected with the issue. Just a query.

Tyre upgrade of magna to asta or sportz factory spacified one i think warranty should not be void. But to other specifications it is like do it at your own risk.

I think steering rattle problem resolved in all new BS1V versions. As my i20 Crdi has clocked 3200 kilometers in 2 month. I drive through many rocky and uneven village roads also. But no rattling till today.

I've a BSIV variant and it used to rattle. Still am sure that it's not resolved.
