Getz Prime 1.3 GLX or I20 1.2 Magna

Hi Guv, Have you ruled out Vista Safire also? This is the best comfortable hatch for family either at front or rear seat. What about Punto which is the latest hot hatch? Please have a test drive with your family/friends befor finalising any of these car.

@K Wenugopalan: Gov specifically asked for a comparision between getz and i20 magna.So in order 2 avoid compilcation vista and punto was ruled out.I thought he was fixed either2 go for getz or i20.Vista and punto are also great cars

Hi, Bhardwaj, As Gov is buying his first car and having a very good budget, I suggested him other options in his budget. It is definitely not for complicating the selection. It is entirely up to Gov to try these options or leave out.

@K venugopalan: I also wanted 2 suggest the cars as soon as Gov replied.

@Gov: If u use car for regular highway driving I20 magna 1.2 is not an option.U can consider the indica vista.1.2 fire punto is also not suitable for frequent highway driving

Yesterday I had test drive with I20. Wasnt happy with the legroom. I felt Getz is decent vehicle(legroom & spacious + have enough boot). So, went up with GETZ and placed the order. Expecting vehicle some time next week.

As per Indica Vista, got bored seing Indica vehicles in hyd (Even though the look different with Vista, still) and about FIAT PUNTO, a good car; worried about after sales.

i 20 is much better when you compared it with Getz. Worldwide Getz had been replaced by i 20. Yes there are certain negatives about i 20 but then there is no car in the world which is perfect !!. Just TD both with your family & then decide.My choice - i20 .

Hi Gov, Adding to Ashish comments: Despite Hyundai's best efforts, they are unable to sell Getz like i10/Santro. Earlier it was highly priced and now better cars are available.

It is like Punto is better than Palio, Vista than Indica DLS, Ritz than Swift. Please take a long drive of i-20 along with your family and then decide. It is your personal choice and give another try.

Space and comfort:

Hyundai getz: 7 /10

Hyundai I 20: 8 /10

The newest Korean, the I20, doesn’t do as bad as far as overall comfort is concerned. The front seats are generous and even though they are placed low, a combination of tilt/telescopic steering wheel and height adjust means it is again easy to find an optimal driving position. The front seats are comfy but could do better from the lower back and under thigh support point of view, since they are flat and have an abrupt design near the edges, which means overall under thigh support is compromised.
The rear seats are again, spacious and comfy and the inclination is better in rear seats.

In the older Korean getz legroom is more than adequate at both front and rear, and for the asking price, the car do not do bad as far as backseat comfort is concerned with adequate legroom and width. The rear seats can be reclined at 3 different angles.

In terms of front seat getz fares marginally,but only just. Legroom is generous but tall drivers have their knees fouling with the dashboard since getz  does not have seat height adjustment as standard, only the steering adjusts for tilt.

The biggest drawback is that the cars seats are placed too low means passengers have to sit with their knees up position (especially taller ones) and this can get painful on long drives.

I20 is good vehicle, but I feel (in my TD) GETZ PRIME GLX is better than I20 in the following

1) Leg Room

2) Road Vision (magna doesnt have Driver seat height adjustment)

3) Powerful Engine

4) Gear Shifting (As per Bhardwaj's rating)

5) Overall well composed & compromised in FE (I20 gives better mileage).

after seing all above factors, I decided to go with GETZ PRIME. Please update me if some thing important i missed out.
