I want to buy a new Wagon R Duo Lxi by October 15th 2009. Can anyone suggest wt could be the minimum time to book the car to get that on the specified date and Is there any option available to make part payment of Downpayment...i,e. part payment while booking and remaining at the time of delivery.

I don't think it has any waiting-period.  Check for its availability with your local dealer & book it accordingly - specify him the date you want to take the delivery. Keep a couple of days' margin to be on the safer side (take delivery on the date you wish to).

While booking the car, you will need to pay the booking amount & pay the rest while taking the delivery (cash or loan, as the case may be).

Hi Swapnil...as Pankaj rightly suggested, Wagon R models do not have waiting periods. However, for colors like Passion red you might have to wait a week or so, if you are unlucky ofcource and the car is out of stock.

Swapnil

if you are taking any loan for wagonR > apply now with SBI, they are offering zero processing fee and some special interest rates > 8% etc., but before 30 sept.

Before 30 sept is good time to get better offers from Maruti, because it is beneficial to take depreciation on entire year.

Presently Maruti is offering 30+ 10K discount >> recently i brought and get 35K cash discount + basic ass. free.

You will get better features in vxi than in lxi.

If you have a good amount of run and want to save on running cost,it is better to go for duo lxi,but for it, you'll have to compromise on some features which you'll get in vxi.

can have a look at this , go through features, all features

If you are not very keen on a maruti, spark lpg is also a very good/better option.

edit: Did not see the above post while posting mine

Spark LPG looks to be quiet VFM Car. The Offer is good enough to go for it. Road grip and other features, beige colour interiors etc is making spark LPG a better option.

If you run/usage is substantially high, go for DUO.  The running cost on LPG will work out to 2/3rd as compared to that on Petrol.  But if it isn't so (high run), the 1/3rd savings will hardly matter.  In that case, don't compromise on performance. Peformance on LPG (any car) will not match with that on Petrol & will also not be as maintenance-free.
