Colonel Saab,

The shootout is for the hatchbacks, not the sedans.

Cheers,

Yasir.

Fusion is not at all a sedan, neither it can be called only a hatch instead its a mixture of hatch,MUV,etc.

It is what we think we know already that often prevents us from learning.

I was once driving in Masinagudi close to Mudumalai, which is on the way to Ooty.

I was staying at one of the jungle resorts there and I was driving a Santro Xing. Although I was pretty happy with the handling on bad roads and even on non existent roads, I did get the feel that the Xing was better suited to decent roads.

This is when I spotted a Ford Fusion holding her own in the wilderness. I was impressed by the ground clearance and with how much luggage the guys who drove it carried. I think if it was offered with a good diesel engine as a varient, it would sell very well.

Regards,

Yasir.

That was one of the main reasons for buying it. It has good GC and very good luggage and passenger space. The fusion has the Fiesta 1.4 diesel engine since 2007 but it is slightly inderpowered for the highways. in the city, its better than the petrol bcos of the greater torque. its FE is also very good, 17/23. Dude i not taking the credit.I am justt a messenger

Dear Bhardwaj,

I went through your review and looked at the rating. On most of counts Fabia scores better than other rivals. Swift and Ritz have only scored higher in terms of ownership experience or FE.

In your conclusions, all of a sudden, you have declared Honda Jazz (ridiculously over priced with not feature what so ever) as winner and Swift and Punto as runner up. I smell a rat in it. Maritu Service is not cheap. Take a look from my perspective: Low service intervals, normal oil with average service cost ranging between 2000-2500 (every 1000o kms) where as in Skoda and now VW its 15000 with synthetic lube for Rs 5000. Spares are more or less smilar say 20-30 % costly than maruti but of better quality and durability. Power output of Fabia and Polo comparable with swift @ 75 Bhp and new fabia and Polo giving FE of 12-14 within city. No comparision when it comes to quality of parts, fit and finish, handling of these hatches.

Would you mind by re-visint your proposition and redrawing your conclusions.

If you want, I can send you the price list of parts of Maruti and Skoda and i believe same for Polo.

NOTE: I got the source of your comparision. Team-BHP has always maintained anti SKODA stance. I feel Skoda Bashing forum where GTO, Rehan, Sidindica and other people blindly make anti skoda remards which I found, sometimes, factless and prejudiced, if not always. I know there are some problems at dealership end.
