Hi Guys,

I have an ALTO Lxi registered in UP which i have now brought to karnataka. What is the road tax i will have to pay here. Car was bought in June 2006. Also, i have got NOC from UP and would like to register the car here at later time.

NOC is generally valid for 3 months (check).  You will have to get the car re-registered in Karnataka within the validity period by paying life-time tax as applicable to old vehicles on depreciated value assessed by RTO (Karnataka).

Thereafter, once the re-registration comes through, you may seek pro-rata refund of life-time tax paid earlier in UP (cumbersome job it is).

I have no idea.  Hope someone else is able to post some info.  In the meantime, check locally.
