Dear Vijay,
Yes, Maruti is planning to launch Diesel Swift in India, however it
will be launching its Sport version (1.6L, 125PS) first. It may take a
few months to arrive Diesel Swift on Indian roads.
Tata Indica Turbo is definitely better than its conventional non-turbo variants. With the introduction of turbocharger in Indica, Tata has managed to deliver much power (68PS and Indica has 53PS), torque is considerably increased (130Nm over 85PS) at the same 2500RPM. Thus Turbo is quite quicker but is a bit noisy however. Mileage is not as good as non-turbos.
If you need performance, you can consider Turbo or if you can wait for half year or so, Swift Diesel is coming with a 1.3L, 67PS machine.
