Dear Ram, Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 is good car in terms of Interior and looks/design but lacks in performance, transmission and rear-headroom. If you are a tall guy then you should completely ignore this car. Aveo 1.6 is better in performance but rear-seat problem remains same here. Its packaged very well, however is priced a bit higher. If you are making your mind for Aveo then you must have a test-drive of Fiesta too! You were looking for Baleno? Had a test-drive?

Dear Mr.Banwari Lal Sharma, Thanks for your response. In fact, i had a test drive of Suzuki Baleno, Ford Fiesta and Chevrolet Aveo recently. i have not test driven the Hyundai Accent since i heard that it is likely to go off the roads soon. As of now, i am unable to come to a conclusion when it comes to choosing the best car in the price range of Rs. 5- 6 lakhs. My usage will be mostly in the city - upto 450 kms in a month and may be twice a month out station trip covering another 450 kms roughly. Can u plz guide me on a comparitive basis? Aslo it would be nice if you could indicate any models that are likely to hit the roads over the next 2 months and worth waiting for a consideration? regards Ram

Dear Mr. Ram, I am afraid that neither Aveo nor Baleno are in your budget of 5-6lakh. Fiesta's entry level variant seems within 6lakh but it isn't in essence as with RTO and Insurance, the cost will go around 6.5lakh! Accent GLE is in your budget but yes, there is a news that it won't survive for longer. Now two models are remaining to talk about. Tata Indigo and Fiat Petra. Petra doesn't have good FE and resale value. But Tata Indigo SX series (GSX as petrol variant) is good option in provided budget range. It is quite loaded with features and performance too is good. You should go for a test-drive of this car as well. Interiors will definitely tempt you.

Dear Ram, Ikon Flair is a good car but is not recommended at all. It's about to be discontinued sooner or later. Why take chances while we have too many options. We have discussed most of them in the very conversation. Since you have asked specifically about Ikon Flair, let us tell you that it won't satisfy you with mileage. Maintenance is quite higher and spares will keep your pocket sad, always! If you are taking chances with having a Ford then stretch your budget a bit and get Fiesta 1.4EXi. At least you won't have to compromise with fuel economy. Ford Ikon is yesterday's car, forget it.
