Hi,

I will be booking a i20 very soon. Now the only thing to finalise is the colour for the car. I have shortlisted White and Dark Grey....both look equally amazing so finding it hard to decide which one to go for.

I know colours is a very subjective matter, but it would be great if you guys can let me know which colour will be a good choice in the long run.

Thanks in advance,

Siddhant

HI

I personally prefer Dark Grey. But's lets be pratical here when u keep for long run i would suggest u go for Crystal White as stratches would be less visible than grey.Any unsual fading in colour is not shown in white when exposed to sun for longer durations.

There are down sides to white also it has to be cleaned at more regular intervals. And the most dangerous downside white is the commn colour for taxi. This is my Opinion only.

So True, Thank you Bhardwaj.

One more reason why White wins over any metallic colour is when there is a need to do some touchup paint work in case of scratches. For Metallic colors the whole part has to be repainted while for white matching colors is not that much of a problem.

Hi

I have nothing against red.But i read a article based on the road accidents that red and black cars are more prone 2 accidents.these colours make the driver agressive, rash, careless and go faster.this just what i read

to add if a recent newspaper article is to be believed dark colors will have more premium for their insurance. Have a look at this thread. But apart from this I would suggest you to go in for the colour which you like the most without taking other factors into consideration. Buying a car is a huge investment and having a car which is totally liked by you is very important

Hi Sidhant,

In my opinion dark grey is really good colour for i20 esp considering the brown interior.

Any white cars with black tints look really stunning, but onlooker’s good feel may not be there for owner who has to maintain that white colour

Depends on the period of ownership you are planning for ... For longer ownership...white is best ...but if you want to sell the vehicle after 3-4 years ...then go for Grey as it is the most preffered color for second hand buyers (I mean Easy to sell)...

Thank you for all the inputs....it really helped

The more insurance for dark cars sounds bizarre....i guess its just a new reason to charge more....btw... i read somewhere online, one guy was suggesting not to buy a blue cars because the birds think it is water and keep poking on the car :P

Anyways, I just booked a crystal white i20 asta. The reason I went for white is coz I will be keeping this car for atleast 5 years. So maintenance wise i guess white will be better compared to grey. I loved both grey and white so dint matter much which one i select.

Thank you so much for all the replies

Sid
