To all the Car Audio Experts,

Please advice me the good car audio options within 12-15k for Maruti Esteem

Some of the research i did and everything below is with bill,

Kenwood 543 - 7190 (Dealer told me that it is better than Pioneer 3190)

JBL 4inch front - 1600 (Dealer suggested not to go for Comp 608C as there is no point having comp without an Amp)

Polk DB691 - 6500 (Dealer adviced this one over GTO947 and GTO938 is no more in sale)

Plank + Installation - 1200

I am very confused and by reading few threads earlier, i feel the quote i got is overpriced.

1) Please advice me best suitable options within 12-15k and also please comment on the suggestions given by Dealer.

2) Is it more cheaper in Delhi compared to Bangalore as i have car in Delhi which i ll bring from delhi this month to bangalore

3) Wether i should go for Grey market options or not ? what are the odds of fake in that one!!!

Looking for some helpful advice

Vikas

First of all i am no expert or audio guru.

Buy a HU which has atlest 2 preout (incase you want to install a amp in future) Pioneer/kenwood

i am pretty bad with model # and prices so please bare with me, Will Suggest Pioneer 3190/4190.

The dealer is right installing compo without an amp is not adviceable, Go for front coax and rears both will work for normal listening. For price of the components others may tell.

I will say if you have any plans to upgrade in future like amp/sub then go with the compo in the front coax in rear later add an amp and sub if you feel like.

First of all Ronit, Thanks for replying

I believe what you are telling me make sense and this is how i am planning to setup

HU 4190 - any info on price with and wout bill

front coax (JBL) 4" will do for now as they are not expensive

rear Polk db691 - any info on price with and wout bill

Need suggestion on shall i go for grey and in what price or shall i stick with old school theory of buying with bill

As i said earlier im very bad with prices so, Try to find out rates in your area buying without bill stuff is not a problem but from where you are buying is, If you the the seller then not a problem. But be sure that there is decent difference between the bill and without bill stuff to justify the warranty.

Most of the stuffs have been covered here.

You may install a component system without amp. It is better to have an amp but not mandatory.

The price for db691 is very high.

My 2 cents: Always have your front speakers better than your rear ones.

Have a look here for shops.

Sorry for the delay. I was away for a while.

Option 1: Not many passengers in the rear

HU: 6050 - 8k
Front: Polk db6501/Hertz ev165 - 7k
Rear: None.

Add an amp down the line. You will be more than happy. If you are missing the rear then add a small 6.5'' round speaker on the rear doors.

Option 2: With rear fill

HU: 3150 - 6k
Front: Polk db6501/Hertz ev165 - 7k
Rear: JBL GTO 938 - 3k

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are on low budget now, we can think of a phased installation. In that case we can take some now and add the rest later on. In short you dont have to compromise.
