I also faced same situation as Sundar with Popular automobiles Chennai,I cancelled the delivery of the car,retained the booking for new car even though Maruthi was under strike at that time

I want to purchase a new car in the budget between 4-6 lacs. Few friends are suggesting to go with Diesel, few are suggesting Petrol car.

Please advice with best option, which car should I purchase.

it depends on your running,

if run more than 700km/month go for diesel  otherwise go for Petrol.

I know it's been a long time since I started this thread.  I started when I booked my Chevy Beat with KLN.  So many things hapenned after that an After this I booked a cocktail green beat with Sundaram Motors and as they have no stock left they have placed the order.  Meanwhile I applied for my loan and my application is approved my HDFC within 4 days.  I am hoping to look at my new car may be in a week's time.  Will keep you guys updated.  

Accessories promised by Sundaram:

Car cover, floor mat, sun film, mud flap, keyless entry

Last time when I went for a pre delivery inspection I was little worried but this time as I have the experience I am really confident.

Congrats. Have you taken the delivery? Was Mr.sasi your service associate there?
I have also booked a black Beat diesel LS from Sundaram motors and my car's delivery is due by this sunday or monday. They are better and transparent than the KLN. When i went for a test drive to KLN i was given a new beat diesel for TD which was supposed to be delivered to a customer.

Hi Balaji Babu, congrats to you too.  I have made the downpayment and checked out the car in the yard.   I am taking the car from Sundaram Motors, Annasalai, Chennai.  The sales person's name is Mr. Rajasekhar and the Manager is Satish.  I will be getting the delivery of the cocktail green Beat this wednesday.

I checked the Chassis number of the vehicle and it was manufactured Nov 2011 so I am satisfied and did a brief check of the car's exterior and interior in bright light.  I am fine with it althought no amount of checking is enough when you are a first time car buyer..  I did see a black beat in the yard and it was looking really fantastic almost made me change my mind.

Will get back to you after I get the delivery.

Hi Guys, atlast the long wait is over.  I took delivery of my new chevy beat on Thursday.  Everything went smooth.  The Sundaram motors guys were very professional in handing over the car.  They also completed the pooja and gave it to me. I received the chevy teddy, a box of chocalates and a tissue box. It was a smooth drive back home eventhough I was really worried about the traffic and the wellbeing of the car.

The Sundaram guys are coming over to show a demo on Saturday.  Will have my 1st service after a month or 1000kms.  Will let you know my driving experience in the next few days

hi guys,

my father is purchasinng the new hyundai eon magna(o) for me, we had booked it in november start  and three days back they called me and told me that the car was ready. But, we had requested them for a january 2012 delivery,they did agree but since i still have 15-20 days more to go should i be more careful?

and while submitting documents while making payment they have asked me to get the passport zerox copy notorised.Is that required? i am purchasing the car from mumbai

only one question which i have is that i booked the car i july , never asked the dealer abt that in 4 months then wen i went to the dealer and asked him abt that and told him that i need the delievery they told ull get it soon,,, then i got a call from the dealer abt 7 days ago and was told  that there was a silver car with them,, i booked white ... they gave me an option of immediate delivery of silver which i deciled.. now i again get a call from the dealer that car has started from cheenai and wld reach till 23rd  so make all the payments now means tomoorow that is on 16 dec

1. should i do so

2. how can i check that the car they wld offer me on 23 is v v new.. nd not a demo car .. coz i have been pressuring so much abt the delievry as many people who booked in aug have aslo got the deleivry before me .

3. if i delay the delivery by few more days would it be counted as 2012 model then.

1. Do so aafter considering the following points.

2. You must verify VIN number and use the VIN decoding tool to check year of manufacture. Easier method is to check form-22 for mfg date. 

3. Date of manufacture wont change, however you can wait till a fresh model arrives at the dealer.
