Buying used Baleno or Esteem

Hi gurus,

I am planning to buy a used Maruti Baleno or Esteem for my dad. Could you guide me on the following things

• Is it adviceable to buy Esteem or Baleno as the production of both the cars are already stopped?
• Are the spare parts available? How costly are them?
• Which one has a higher mileage and a lower maintenance cost?

Esteem is better in maintenance / mileage.

Baleno is also a very good car with better space / performance. Its a segment higher than Esteem.

Spares will be easily available in case of both the cars.

You can choose whichever you like / as per your requirements.

I would suggest u go for the Baleno as it Will have a lower peice tag and has a new design over the esteem.It is also more safe than esteem and fully loaded

Esteem is 16 year old car with a no of face lifts in its life.Baleno has the newer design backing 9 yrs along with some facelifts

 I think than Baleno's production was stopped before esteem and also esteem was once face lifted(3 years back(aproxx)).

If wrong please correct.

@Nobs: as said by raju ji Esteem is better in maintenance / mileage.&baleno is better in space and comfort.Baleno's sales also did not picup.

Baleno is costlier than Esteem (Original Price of New Car as well as User Car). Check marutitruevalue.com.

As such, Baleno will not be cheaper than Esteem.

Here, the choice depends on the requirement of the user.

Also, when you purchase Used Cars, select 2-3 models and then buy a car which is good in condition rather than sticking to a particulat model. If the car is good in condition, go ahead and buy the same.

For Eg. - when you have selected Esteem / Baleno - you can buy whichever Car you get in good condition. (Price difference will not be more than 60000-75000 over a similar model between the two).
