Thank you all for your quick replies.

As per your suggestion I am planning to go for an Esteem.

How much mileage could I expect from esteem. Could I get 13 to 14 kmpl in city?

  • Is it adviceable to buy Esteem or Baleno as the production of both the cars are already stopped?
  • Are the spare parts available? How costly are them?
  • Which one has a higher mileage and a lower maintenance cost?

  • both are very good cars and there is no harm in going in for them even if their production has been stopped
  • spares are easily available and are affordable too.
  • baleno has a 1.6L engine and will be more powerful than the esteem(1.3L). the downside is that it will give lesser FE than the esteem.

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!

I have recently purchased used Esteem 2003 VXi 52000 kms on odometer.

In the initial Rs.500 petrol, I drove 135 kms - with 120% a/c (Coz many time, though the car was standing in the Building waiting for someone, the car was on with a/c for say 10 min etc)

It somes to aroung 12.85 kmpl (100% drive in city only).

However, I will soon write a review on the Car with mileage (as I am going to Mumbai-Indore-Mumbai on 14th August).

Till that time, assume the mileage in the range of around 11-12 kmpl in city.
