Though Fabia is on higher side when it comes to maintenance but really a super hatch. Performance is subjective and may be skoda is slight behind but Ride quality of Skoda is very good. Service interval is maximum in Skoda. If someone is not bothered about extra expense on maintenance Skoda Fabia is a good choice. Mileage is good. Feel & Features of Skoda is definitely better than other two.

If someone wants Value for money car then I feel Punto is good. But if prime concern is maintenance then i20 should be the choice. Hyundai's A.S.S. is better.

i20 is very plush and gives a very good feeling when you are inside it. In most aspects the i20 will stand above the other two. Its got better service than Punto since the former is from hyundai and the latter if from FIAT. Fabia, being from skoda is expensive to maintain even though it has a very good built quality. I would also like to suggest the Ford Fusion. Its one of its kind. Spacious and good on performance. Though the spares are expensive its still affordable when compared to the fabia. Better take a test drive and then decide. Also have a look at this comparision

wud like to add to the mileage of i 20...

city 11.5 to 12 kmpl

Highway 16kmpl max...

been driving i 20 for a while(clocked 6000 km)

wud still choose i 20 over other other two because

Fabia- Costly spare parts and bad service...

Punto- Love the car but no cause of bad eperience I had with the uno.. the service network in our country kills these wonderfull machines...

I differ with Centaur . i 20 is not above in most aspect compare to others. Infact it has got the least rear leg room . You can feel the vibration on steering ( even recognised by Hyundai person who was with me during TD ). Ride quality is no where near Punto & Fabia. You surely feel the bump & rough road. Steering is too light . When we talk about interiors , well it has got everything brown . Brown plastics & brown seat. Steering design itself is straight lift from Honda !!. Yes pick up is excellent , brakes are excellent , ASS is very good.

And most negative point - Price . i 20 doesn't deserve it. They are asking too much .

@Ashish, when I say most aspects it means not coompletely but in a majority of the aspects the i20 is above the other two. Maintenance is cheaper than skoda. ASS is better than FIAT and Skoda ( more dealer/service center network than either of them). When you speak about the space, i would suggest you to check the comparision I have posted in my previous post. The overall length for the cars are Punto-3987mm, i20-3940mm and fabia 3992mm. the difference between the cars is 40-50 mm which is not a huge figure. If you go for the i20 asta which is 4k cheaper to the fabia you get all the 95% features of the fabia(only power door locks and tubeless tyres are missing in i20). The fiat is a 1.3L and the i20 is a 1.4L. So the price difference between the two is in a way justified.

@ Centaur , Lets wait for three months & number will tell us. Sales figure in the month of June are very good for Jazz ( 2033 Units ) & Punto ( 1692 Units ). Whether i 20 crdi can do the same ? And also whether Jazz & Punto will sustain these success ? .

I am not saying that i 20 crdi is not good. Problem with Hyundai is that they price their car very high initially & later started discountig it. There by cheating the customers who buy it initially. Because of pricing good product doesn't get deserved market share.

All three discussed cars have pros & cons. No one is superior. I am telling this only because i had driven all these cars quite a few times.

Uneet: Regarding the performance, have you taken the diesel engines or the petrol engines for comparison. I feel in either of the cases Fabia is way behind.

Iam taking both diesel and petrol engines.

Also note that the when we compare the figures of 0-60, 0-100, 20-80 and 40-100, you will notice that the engine performance in Fabia is the best in the mid range i.e 20-80- and 40-100.

This was my reasoning of not keeping Fabia much behind the other two cars in comparison.

Uneet, one of my client booked Fabia and they promised delivery within a week. He asked me about the Fabia and I know he can afford little high maintenance thats why Fabia is not bad for him. Quality speaks and I feel Fabia is having different class.

[A slight correction- i 20 has power lock and runs on tubeless tyres..^^/quote
