What i feel that build quality of a car is most important in case of accident. All Maruti cars or rather all Japanes & Koreans cars are legging behind to their European rivals in that respect. If you observe carefully inside the bonnet of Swift & Fabia , you will quickly realise the difference . Even old honda city had a very poor records with respect to accident .

Basically it is a difference of philosophy , East Vs West.

i think its the more recent cars which are like this. even a wagon R's hood/bumpers are stronger than those of the swift...

BUT THE IKON IS LITTLE EXPENSIVE WITH VERY LOW FEATURES IN THAT  , AND PALIO MAINTAINENCE IS FOR EVERY 7500 KMS BUT IN IKON ITS 10K KMS , GUYS LITLE CONFUSING

you're confused because you're not thinking logically. why do you want these two cars in the first place

Go for Punto.

PUNTO AND I20 ARE EXPENSIVE , INDIA AURA I DONT LIKE , MARUTHI SWIFT I ALREADY HAD , SO I HAVE LEFT WITH ONLY 2 CHOICES CANT FIND ANYTHING BETTER IN DIESEL

You will get Punto Emotion around 6.3 lacs which you  are supposed to spend on Ikon. Punto is not expensive.
