the best service one need to get from an insurance company is at the time of claim settlements.

as for life insurance, LIC of India have the best claim settlement ratio in the world. the other world giants are no where near.

please go for any GIC company. there won't be posh offices and smiling staff. But in this industry faith and kept promises are far too  important than glamour.

Pick insurance company which is having tie up with your dealer. For better service and hasslefree settlement.

I have seen some bad experiences with ICICI Lombard, Reliance & United India.

Day before yesterday I paid 6830/- to The New India Assurance Co. for renewal of Spark. Fiesta's insurance is from Lombard & Xeta's from Reliance.

From my experiences IFFICO TOKIO provides good discounts when bargained. But at the same time, as Rajiv said, do go in for a comp which has tie up with your dealer/service centre.
