Oh  i think if i'll buy safari dicor than i can't put CNG in it b'coz itz dieselCry ..right?

For the present CNG retrofitment is not at all popular in Diesel cars.  Retrofitment of CNG in diesel car is not economically viable/feasible – for the fact that the retrofitment would cost heavy (much more than it costs in Petrol) & the difference between the savings on the running cost on CNG & Diesel is negligible vis-à-vis Petrol.  Savings in the running-cost on CNG is approximately 2/3rd of petrol while on Diesel it’s 40-45%.

Besides, there will be power/performance loss on CNG – will not match with that on Diesel in any case.

Going for Petrol (Safari) & getting retrofitment done – will again not be economically viable – for the fact that Petrol Safari costs higher than Diesel/DiCOR Safari.

All in all, go for Safari DiCOR (diesel).  It will return a mileage of 10-12 in city & 14-16 on highway (depending upon the driving conditions & style).

The power loss may not be felt in normal driving conditions/style but, as stated before, the performance will not match with that of Diesel/Petrol.

In any case, CNG retrofitment in diesel/DiCOR is not economically viable - for the reasons explained before - the prime reason why you shouldn't be opting for the same.

Regarding 2 din system, I think it can be fitted.  Others will be able to guide/comment better.

Between the two, Safari is more powerful.

Can also consider Xylo.

Also have a look at this thread/discussion.

I think you should consider Xylo. It is the cheapest among the lot and a people mover. It is sturdy enough for frequent trips. It is almost like Scorpio.

About safari I know...its around 1000 Rs per 1000 KM. Atleast I have spent this much till date. My current odometer reading is around 22K. Now I have no idea if its less or more. But thats what I have spent max till date.

Hope this helps

I love the drive and comfort. As stated by Pankaj, the average in city is around 10-11, rarely more than 11 due to traffic. But on highways its always more than 12. And the tata guys says that the more you drive it, its efficiency would increase.

Somehow I dont feel that its high on maintenance, being a diesel vehicle. The ASS guys are also very helpful here. So till now no hitches or issues at all. Its a wonderful car to own and a perfect drive.
