The article on Auto Car India for Roadtest of Maruti Esteem  - says it can accelerate faster than City VTEC.

Quote - "The 1.3 petrol, although ancient, is one of the finest engines available in India: built largely out of aluminium, it is refined, powerful, and frugal and loves to be revved. In fact, it can accelerate quicker than an old Honda City VTEC! This engine is virtually bombproof, and a sipper, averaging an amazing 10.1 and 16.7kpl in city and on the highway."

I have recently purchased Maruti Esteem 2003 VXi for 1,97,000/- and have give my buying experience here :-

Pretty impressive that the esteem is capable beating the city VTEC in a 0-100 sprint. I went through the link but  unfortunately they have not posted any details about the test between the city and the esteem.

Why break rules when following them is much easier!!!

It is not a surprise. Esteem has more power than the previous City.
