Or does Nikon and Canon have different price strategy for India and U.S?

All I have is the kit lens (18-55mm) that came with the camera body. I plan to acquire a macro lens. I got a 25 year old Topman tripod from my wife's house. It is enough for my present needs.

Which software do you use for panorama stiching?

Pricing policy for the companies are the same, but i guess there is a lot of difference in the taxes and also because of the heated competition and demands the dealer margins are quite small over there(3% according to By Thom).

Photoscape would do a great job for panoramas.

I am not able to download images in RAW format to my PC which I capture in the Canon 1000D. I use the the utility software provided by canon to download images from cam.

Can any one help me in this?

I guess you are able to copy the files to the hard drive, but not able to open the same in the IP software.

do also try cameraRAW and lightroom also.

Only the jpeg format images are downloaded to the pc. The raw images with extension *.cr2 are not transferred to the pc even though I shoot in raw format.

In that case the only suggestion would be to try using a card reader. I hope you do format the card IN camera after say about 1000 pictures or so.

Once I tried using the card reader too, but no difference. I delete the photos after each download, but have formatted only once (reached 3500 ).

Oops!!!!!! It was my fault.. as usual..

The selection for RAW format was not done properly in camera. Now it is done.

Another query. Can we rotate photos in clockwise or anti clock wise direction without compression using photoshop. If not is there any other software which has tool for this?

@ Kartik, did you receive the welcome kit from Canon Edge. Last week I got an SMS from Canon edge that my kit will be despatched within 15 days.

Eager to know the contents of the kit.
