As per my information TDI has some sort of vibration (Increases more with time). So does this vibration affects the entire engine's life? (Increasing NVH level)

Thanks.

Not to my knowledge.  Test-drive the car (check the vibration).

I meant (TDI) that Turbo engine.

Engine noise is high in TDi as compare to Quadrajet but not to that extent. Inside cabin its okey sound and performance is good.

Sorry Rajiv but I would like to disagree with you on this. I had been in an Indigo TDi and the noise in the rear seat also was pretty high. The Quadra ofcourse is very good. I would not be completely wrong if i said that sometimes it becomes a bit difficult to point out the Quadra between a petrol and diesel car.

Yes Ranjit, I meant TDi. Test-drive TDi & QJD - drive both the cars with door glasses rolled-down, rolled-up & with AC, and feel the difference (whatever) yourself.

@Centaur: I would say that you have exaggerated it at both ends.

TDI doesnt have an NVH that is way too high.

Smilarly QJD ain't that smooth that you cant tell the difference between that and a petrol.

Thanks all.

Request you all kindly check my following queries regarding TDI (Vista)

1. I am preferring Vista TDI (Aqua) because of following reasons:

      a. Same price as petrol car in the same segment. (i10-1.1/1.2, Vista SFIRE, Gets,)

      b. Good FE compare to any petrol car in same price.

      d. Lots of space & VFM

2. Can I select TDI even for my low usage? (Because its FE & economic to run against petrol car in same range)

3. Is that going to be wrong decision if I go for Vista TDI because of my budget concern?

4. Is it (TDi) going to be high on maintenance after some time?

5. Does the Vista TDI will serve me for long period of time?

6. What are points in TDI which makes us to think of QJD?

7. Is it (TDI) enough for me?

8. What could be resale ratio over QJD?

Thanks

Having had to travel over 1,500 kms in an Indigo taxi after I had an accident on one of my journeys I would say that the vehicle is sufficiently refined and that the noise does not intrude into the cabin - this was on a taxi that had already done over 160,000 kms.  Or maybe it just gets better with age?

I would however disagree that it is difficult to make out that the Quadra is a diesel - it is very definitely a diesel from the outside, and if the car is not sufficiently damped on the firewall and bulkhead then it would be as noisy on the inside.

Agreed Ami. That was a bit too high

Thanks for your inputs Steeroid but I just put down my experience on the TDi. I went from Pune to Mumbai International airport through the express way and this is what I felt. Finally had to ask the driver to switch of the AC to reduce the load on the engine and roll down the windows.

EDIT:-the next time I went I asked for a better car because of my previous bad experience and good enough for me I was sent an Innova. Wink The driver went cruising around 160 kmph for some duration.Smile
