Satish, the "Indica Turbo" that is sold is a diesel car. Your's (Indica V2) is a petrol car - and most passenger petrol cars (at least city cars) in India are naturally aspirated, i.e., they do not have any turbo or supercharger & intercooler. Installing these may or may not be feasible depending on the car's design - though fitting just an intercooler might be a bit easier. If you get the intercooler fitting just right, you will get a somewhat better performance (a smoother/more powerful engine or better mileage). However if not done correctly it will be counter-productive.

I too had considered this for my Santro and carry it at the back of my head...but never had the time or chance to actually look into it - how much it would cost, feasibility and so on...

No, mine is a diesel car, thats why it is called Indica V2 DLX (D stands for Diesel, GLX is a petrol car where G stands for Gasoline) !!!!

Well, if its a diesel, it probably already has a turbo - most diesel vehicles need a turbo to compress the air so that the air-fuel mixture will self-ignite in the cylinder during the ignition or power stroke. What your car might not be having is an intercooler.

Well, IMO it can be done in theory - the engine *should* be the same as the turbocharged version. However I don't know for sure if the physical placement of the turbo and associated parts will be possible/easy - it is best to consult a mechanic. After adding the turbo the ECU will also have to be tweaked to deal with the greater air intake.

Rohit, the DLX is a diesel car. all indica models starting with D ( DLE, DLX, DLS , DLG) are diesels. Petrols names are a bit more varied as tata has kept changing them.

IHMO, its cheaper to sell your current car, and buy an indica turbo, than to install one in yours.

To begin with, you will need to buy(courtesy TIUG)

a)Turbocharger.
b)Exhaust headers.
c)Inlet Manifold.
d)High pressure oil pipes for turbocharger.
e)Oil pump.
f)Fuel Injection Pump (The FIP needs to be changed because the boost pressure
sensing mechanism & metering mechanism is purely mechanical, & is built into the
new FIP).
g)Injectors.
h)Air hoses.
i)Air filter assembly
j)Mounting brackets.

, and beyond that labour and the expertise to pull it off. It can be done, and I know someone who has, but trust me it is not economically feasible, and I doubt any TASC which will entertain such work
