Hi,

I am planning to buy a new car between Zen Estilo and WagonR Lxi. I did some research on net but an more confused than earlier. I am not sure whether the detailsgiven on websites (carwale.com indiaautomobile.com etc) are upto date.

Few conflicting features.

Feature                   Carwale.com                                     indiaautomobile.com

Folding rear seats          Yes                                              No

CD/MP3 player               No                                               Yes

Rear defogger                No                                               Yes

Tachometer                   No                                                Yes

Fog Lamps                    No                                                 Yes

Power windows               Only front 2 yes                          Rear and Front both yes

I wonder if the details are correct in carwale.com or Indiaautomobile.com. This is just a comparison of 2 sites. These are the standard equipments offered on both th emodels for Lxi version.

My concern is how often do the websites update their car specs and help to research a car. Also can anyone pls correct which site data is more authentic?

Thanks for your time.

carwale's info seems correct here ...I have just bought a Wagon R LXI ... except the rear folding seats option all are correct here ... Please let us know if you need more info.

PS: Folding rear seat was an option in older models of Wagon-R. The new models do not come with this feature. I guess this has been done to accomodate the 5th passenger.

Hi Nilu:

Which one you liked better - carwale.com or indiaautomobile.com.  You are free to choose which ever you like the best, it is a free country.  If you don't like either, you can GOTO and choose your car or Maruti WaginR and download E-Brochure and your confusion will be resolved to your satisfaction.  However, if you decide to buy WagonR, buy a hefty insurance policy before you buy your car, so your near and dear one will not be upset with you because this tall boy, following the Newton's law of motion,  does not like to be stopped, once on move, see specs 80-0.  Right now, GM is offering a cash discount of about 50 K + 3 years of free service, so Spark has become best VFM.  Wish you the best car shopping.

Thanks Amit and Amit Mugdal.

The features i posted were for Wagon R Lxi models.

Just require an honest opinion from you. Zen Estilo has better features than WagonR for Lxi model. and cheaper too! how does WagonR score above it.

To Amit:- What are the crucial specs for comparison between WagonR and Zen estilo?

WagonR... does not like to be stopped, once on move, see specs 80-0

I think there's some error/typo.  The braking distance cannot be so looong.  The same will be verified & updated/corrected soon.

Nilu, WagonR & Estilo have the same engine.  Estilo has better interiors/features and, in my personal opinion/taste, also scores ahead on looks.  It returns better mileage too – by 1-1.5 km.  WagonR is established for years & is a little sturdier & more spacious/comfortable - and fetches better resale.

Test-drive both the cars (with family).

Nilu,

I have been driving Wagon R now ... Braking is not an issue ... body roll is also not there for safe speed limits (around upto 80-90 kms) ... however the tall boy design does make you feel that the car is not stable on higher speeds than mentioned before.

As compared to Zen Estilo, i personally feel that wagon r has more space in terms of headroom, better road view ... other than that they have very little difference except the looks ...you can choose any of them based on your personal liking ... wagon r is not a threat to your safety as mentioned earlier.. ofcourse if you drive rashly & carelessly then no car in this world is safe.

The exact specifications could always be found on the manufacturers official site..in this case Maruti.

And you can always compare with different other sites like carwale. However, the official site is going to more accurate, incase any discrepancy found.

And as Pankaj says, test drive the cars before finalizing it and that too with family. You would get more details than available on site as well as experience and feel of the car.

Happy Driving

Thanks Pankaj, Anshu and all for the vital info..

I did search through various reviews and found only one major difference between Zen Estilo and WagonR and that is the spacing which is a little cramped in Zen. Also i think the resale value is better for WagonR than Zen.. otherwise both are same..

This has eased my search for car and it wil be WagonR.

One last query if someone can answer it in one line (i dont want to get more confused)

I have a driving of around 100-150 km per month. Is WagonR Duo advisable?

No Nilu ...for this much run ...I would not recommend Duo ... you can not recover the extra cost paid for duo with this amount of run. Moreover, LPG can cause more maintainance overhead as compared to Petrol and the performance of the engine might drop over the period of time with LPG...

BTW congrats on your choice... Wagon R is a good car...also plz check ...Maruti is giving 25k discount (Atleast here in Pune) on petrol version .... this is not available in DUO. So, this is the best time to buy wagon-r.
