Wanted to buy from SX4/Ford Fiesta/Dzire/Honda City Any other suggestion.

Hi All,

I'm Planning to Buy Sedan and Options right now with Budget constrain of close to 8 lakh- I am confused what to choose among SX4/Ford Fiesta/Dzire/Honda City.

I do travel around 100km /day within city-approx 2500km/month

Which car to prefer??

1) Petrol or Diesel variant.

2)SX4/Ford Fiesta/Dzire/Honda City/ Any other suggestion.

1) Obviously, a diesel car will do a justice.

2) Remove Honda City and SX4 from your list and add Fiat Linea Multijet.

Linea is very fuel efficient and is a very nice car to drive once the turbo spins in. Also, it is the best looking sedan in the country right now according to me. Have a look at it.

Yes, diesel should be the obvious choice.

Between Dzire & Fiesta, Dzire has better performance/driving pleasure while Fiesta has better space/comfort & is overall a better car.  Linea, suggested by Nimesh, is a even better car.

Diesel is obvious choice.

Dezire would be best in your budget.

for 2500kms a month you could even consider a CNG/LPG option like the Accent eco or some equivalent. 2500 kms a month is a huge run and CNG/LPG will be more economical than the diesel.

I would suggest you wait for the Tata Indigo vista to be launched with Fiat 1.3L multijet engine & then take a decision if you are not in too much of a hurry.

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs. I have two queries now . Pls help.

1) If I decide for Dezire which one is logical to go for out of three VDI/ZDI/

2) Maintenance cost of Fiat Linea would be more than Dezire ?

There's a difference of 80K between Dzire VDi & ZDi.  ZDi has ABS & Airbags and much better/more features - have a look at the comparison - go through the Features & All Features.

Between the two... as you have sufficient budget (8 lac), go for ZDi.

Linea has excellent build-quality.  Spares/repairs are not known to be expensive.  Notwithstanding the comparison, it will not be high on maintenance.

SX4 Diesel is expected to be launched in August.If you can wait till that time it would be the best option for you.

At present SX4 ZXI costs about 8lakhs on road,SX4 Diesel should be like 50-60 thousand more than that.would be a wise decesion.

dont think the difference will be so less if they have the 1.6L DDiS in place. Could easily crop up to something between 1-1.5 lacs
