Hello

I would like to go for sedan in 5-6 Lakhs Range (On Road Price).

Requirement:

1. It should accomodate 5 members. (Back Seat should be comfortable i.e. Sufficient Legroom should be there.)

2. Should have decent look.

KMs travelled per month: 1500 KM

I have shortlisted Accent Executive because of its looks and pricing and then I wish to install CNG kit.

I don't have much idea regarding Diesel cars but have a notion that it has high maintenance cost.

Please suggest best car in this range with average.

you may have a look on swift dzire ldi, which is in your range........it has a good diesel engine having low maintenance cost & also have a good milege.......it is a better option acc to me as it has a bigger boot than accent & better pick up as afer installing a CNG kit you will have to compromise on performance

Thanks for your response but if I go with Dzire then I would like to go for Swift Dzire Vdi as that has additional features and that will exceed my budget.

As per my mind Swift Vdi will be good option but heart says to go for Three Box and I like the looks of Accent Executive.

Considering my usage (1500 KM/month) will it be advisable  to invest around Rs. 1 LAKH more and go for Diesel engine. Till date I have used petrol engine and I had recently converted my Santro to CNG with no problem at all. I am getting average of almost 20 KM.

So I thought to go for Accent and install the best italian kit available. (I hope company is not going to discontinue this model as they have only one variant available.)

Ford Ikon 1.4 DuraTorq TDCi is in same price range but then I heard that it has high maintenance cost and it makes lot of noise. Interiors are also okay.

Your thoughts?

If I go for premium hatchback car (Diesel) then which one is best among following considering fuel efficiency:

1. Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Multijet - Dynamic

2. Hyundai GETZ Prime 1.5 litre CRDi VGT

3. Swift VDi

Fiat GP & Swift more or less will eb on same ground.as both use same engine, but GP fuel efficiency yet to be tested by actual owners while Swift is tried & tested.

Hyundai is a ROCKET. FE is certainly less then swift & PUNTO by appx 2/3Km

Suggest take a TD of all the cars & choose suits you the most.

For sedan, you can go for Accent Eco.

For hatch, you can go for Punto 1.3 Mjd.

Did test drive of Fiat Plunto Dynamic 1.3 and pickup/accelaration was awesome.

Guy told me that average will be around 22KM.

On road price is 5,84,571/-

But I didn't like it's looks and legroom space.

Then I went for Accent Executive CNG costing 6,16,000/- on road and it felt like a true sedan.

Though pickup was affected due to CNG but then it gives around 18-20 KM average on Rs 29 per KG CNG.

Still am confused. Please suggest me options which have good legroom space and decent average.

Dear Jitesh if you can wait for few months, Indigo based on Vista will be the car suitable for all your needs. It would have best leg room and best engine, i.e. same as used by D-zire/Swift/vista/Palio/Punto. D-zire is not comofortable for 5 ppl.

Accent is good bet, but conveting it in CNG will lapse the guarantee. So you have to wait till 2 years and till them you have to drive on petrol. So all-in-all it will not be a profit making exercise. Further, CNG converted cars are prone to little high maintenance in future. They are good in staring period, but create problems later on. Engine is also exhausted bit fast in CNG. So best thing is to wait till the launch of Indigo. All the best.

Jitesh,

Consider Ikon TDCi. One of the best Diesel Sedan, though little bit dated but with new Bumper and backlight looks good from Front & back.

Engine is very good (Similar in Fiesta) and mileage is also good.

Dont worry about the Maintenance, its not high.

Cheers!

Thanks Bhavin for suggestion but personally I don't like TATA cars.

I will google for Indigo based on Vista to see the details.

For Accent CNG is fitted by company so warranty will not get void.

I still need to check Hyundai Getz but the guy told me that company is going to phase it out soon.

Still confused between Diesel and CNG. Should I increase my budget by 1 LAKH for good legroom space.
