Santhanam , We are talking about Indian market & more importantly few cars in consideration. What is true for Maruti is also true for others. As you said Gatz was successful in U K and failure in India where as Swift is successful in both countries. It shows that as a product Swift is more acceptable than Getz . Whatever reason may be. It is also true that all Hyundai products are discounted products. It is admitted by company itself by giving huge discounts. As i said earlier product launching is decided by market alone.Civic , Corolla & almost all cars which came in India are old models according to your yardstick.

Hi Ashish,

Corolla and Civic are exceptionally good but they are not new to the world. May be new to us when it came to India, but they are existing models newly launched in India. But that should not make any difference; if you want a good product it's available in India, that's it. i10, i20 etc were launched in India when it was launched abroad or even before; i believe, and we had a feeling that some of the most acknowledged models worldwide are available here which is within the budget of common man. Getz might not have succeeded in India because of criteria like fuel efficiency, VFM etc and not because of lack of quality. Dzire is well accepted in India because of same criteria, whereas in countries like UK they wouldn't have gone for it.  for example you can check up honestjohn, where Honda Jazz is rated the best, Honda City (available in India) they describe it as saloon version of Jazz and ugly.  You can imagine the fate of Dzire if it was in UK. For Indians Fuel Efficiency may be the most imp criteria, whereas it's not so abroad, quality, ride comfort, safety etc. matters there more than FE.  Am i right?

Santhanam

Hello Santhanam

That is what i am saying . Market decides all. Quality is a perceived one. It varies from market to market. What is good for Indain market may not be good for others & vice versa.

Also launching i10& i20 first in India was compulsion to regain lost market share & it is nothing wrong. But this doesn't mean that they are the best or others who have come late are not good.If they were so consicious about customer's interest they would have withdrawn Accent & Getz. But they haven't . It shows how they see Indian market.

Hello Guys,

I have made up my mind for Accent Executive and later convert it into CNG.

But, I was navigating through Tata Motors site and I found TATA Indigo XL - Classic Petrol amazing. So, am again confused.

Tata Cars I liked in order:

1. Indigo XL - Classic Petrol

2. Indigo GLX

3. Indigo CS GLX

4. VISTA AURA SAFIRE

Now which one is best among above four considering that I need good rear legroom space and important - I am going to install CNG kit later on.

And are Tata Motors Petrol variants good enough?

Please suggest me best car among five (include Accent Executive also) considering that it is going to run on CNG.

As Pankaj has suggested i20  i would prefer the ford figo ZXI 1.4 diesel.you can only get the base model of i20 in 5to6  lakhs, which is petrol and has a 1.2 engine. Its looks are very attractiove butthe figo has a better engine in that range. So i suggest the figo

Hello

I would like to go for sedan in 5-6 Lakhs Range (On Road Price).

Requirement:

1. It should accomodate 5 members. (Back Seat should be comfortable i.e. Sufficient Legroom should be there.)

2. Should have decent look.

KMs travelled per month: 1500 KM

I have shortlisted Accent Executive because of its looks and pricing and then I wish to install CNG kit.

I don't have much idea regarding Diesel cars but have a notion that it has high maintenance cost.

Please suggest best car in this range with average.

@Jithesh,

Best buy considering your requirements will be Manza diesel(consider petrol is budget is constraint) even if you have to stretch your budget slightly:

Advantages:

a) Its new Sedan Car. Good boot space.

b) Best cars from Tata Motor.

c) Good space at rear (may be best in its category).

d) Good looks.

If you are hard on buying CNG Kit car, go for company fitted CNG kit cars and at present Accent and Aveo Sedan are avilable.

Fiat GP & Swift more or less will eb on same ground.as both use same engine, but GP fuel efficiency yet to be tested by actual owners while Swift is tried & tested.

Hyundai is a ROCKET. FE is certainly less then swift & PUNTO by appx 2/3Km

Suggest take a TD of all the cars & choose suits you the most.
