CNG is environment friendly but diesel would be pocket friendly(maintenance wise). 1500kms can be taken car of by a diesel car but CNG can also be considered. The okin TDCi will be a good choice as suggested by Rajiv. Its good on performance and not that high on maintenance as well. It will server your purpose pretty well

I suppose Hyundai Getz CRDi will be better than Ford Ikon. Correct?

I read on net that Getz has good rear legroom space and powerful engine.

I am going for test drive tomorrow and update you on its result.

Drop the idea of buying Getz or Accent. Both are very old models. Go for new models . It is worth to spend few thousands more. Swift Dezire & GP are good options.

For the first time I am going for Diesel engine and thought it is better to go for tried and tested one.

Read good reviews of all the cars but I didn't liked rear legroom space and looks of Fiat GP.

I need to choose from GETZ 1.5 CRDi, SWIFT VDi or SWIFT Dzire VDi (Okay looks though.)

So, from GETZ and SWIFT Diesel I suppose GETZ is spacious.

Any other benefits of Swift over GETZ?

Edited to remove 'quote' (same as previous post: NOT required, therefore).

Test-drive Swift/Dzire with family.  Rear seat & legroom may not be very comfortable for 3 members - your prime requirement....

1. It should accomodate 5 members. (Back Seat should be comfortable i.e. Sufficient Legroom should be there.)

Have you driven GP ? In fact rear space is comparable to all hatchbacks except Vista. Also Getz is not a VFM when we compare it with Swift , GP & Vista. In fact interiors of Getz looks 10 years older. Those cheap looking fake wood & plastics are not worth 5.5 lacs. If you want power Swift is better ( although Getz is more powerful but only for straight line driving .)If you want space ,no match for Vista.GP is way ahead in most of the department compare to other hatchbacks. In case of sedan , Swift Dezire is the best in your budget.

Went for TD today:

Hyundai is not going to sale GETZ CRDi any more.

Next month i20 Diesel is going to be launced.

I tried i20 Petrol variant and it was good.

Again thought for Accent Executive - CNG which gives mileage of 20 KM.

Swift VDi/Swift Dzire has waiting of 1 month and I didn't like the interiors and buid quality of the material.

As per my usage family/friends are suggesting me to go for Petrol variant and convert it into CNG.

Still confused.... Undecided

Either go for i20 petrol or go for Accent CNG, don't buy a petrol car and convert it to CNG when company fitted CNG cars are available in market. Santhanam

Diesel is also a very good option.  If you are not in a hurry, wait till i20 is launched (just round the corner) - you have liked i20 otherwise (petrol).
