hi,

I have indica vista safire aura, I think TATA Motors should do work on steering of this car, it is very tight, it should be smooth as other cars have.  otherwise there is no other problem in this car.  The car is very smooth, specious, and very comfortable.

I just brought the new Indica Vista Aura and I think this car is good as compare to any other car of this segment...

The car is heavier than others, and so is the Steering.  In general, it stands true for all Tata cars.  It's only a matter of getting used to it.

Hi,

After a long consideration for cars, i finally bought a Vista Quadrajet Aura Limited Edition last month.

And now is the time for the 1st Service as it has been around 900 Kms. I would appreciate if some of the friends living in Mumbai can guide me to the best Tata Service Station in Mumbai. Thanx in advance.

Its also because the Power Steering of Vista is just Hydraulic (old tech)... not Electric (new advanced tech).  I test drived i10 before buying Vista and its steering was way too smooth.

I peronally like the steering of my Vista... atleast you feel you are driving something.

Too much tech will just cripple us

I noticed my Aura Safire does not has a 'Door Ajar Warning' neither alarm nor any led light flashing.

Does Vista Aura has no Door Ajar warning?

Hydraulic PS is used in heavier vehichles. Electronic (electric) PS, i have read somewhere, is not a true PS. This is because the number of turns that the steering wheel rotates to achieve a prescribed level of wheel rotation is not reduced, while in the hydraulic version it is reduced.

I dont know if the hydraulic version is an older technology that has been replaced by a newer one.

EPS is limited by the power it can draw from a 12V supply. so for higher power applications, an HPS is used

I think only Maruti & Hyundai are giving EPS where as Tata , Fiat & Skoda are giving hydraulic in their hatchbacks. I may be wrong.

Also in case of failure EPS is more costly to repaire.

Have a look at this thread/discussion on Power Steering & its types (HPS, EPS & EHPS).
