Problem faced in Indica Vista

Your Vista is also good.  Though it's not as zippy as i10, it has its advantages like space/comfort pointed out by you, fantastic stability/road-grip & good build-quality.  It's a much safer car than i10 - in any circumstances.

The problem is lack of small refinements & quality of service provided by Tata.  Tata have improved but currently stand no match to the professionalism Hyundai have.

Please do NOT feel bad about your decision.  All in all, it's a very good car - unbeatable on many aspects.  None of the issues faced by you are major (nothing to worry).  Just ensure that the problems get resolved conclusively & to your satisfaction.  Put in all the efforts you can

Don’t worry Avishek. Vista is a good car! There are two vistas in our family. Initially both had few refinement issues due to lack of proper PDI by the dealer. Adding to that the service guys messed up the things further. So we changed the service center. Now both the cars are running trouble free. I won't say they are 100% perfect but at least 90% perfect. One is running at ~31000 kms and the other at ~6000Kms.

Give an online feedback/complaint in the Tata Motors website. The links are provided by Pankaj in his earlier post. Give appropriate ratings (points) when you get the service feedback call from Pune. Finally register all your complaints to the executive. Out of my experience, TML takes the feedback seriously and takes necessary actions.

If possible change the service center once the existing issues are sorted out. I feel the quality of TASC's service is better that TASS's service. As people tend to take the cars for service to the place where they bought the car, the authorized sales and service center  people get the customers easily. So most of the ASS lack quality service. In case of authorized service center, they have to purely depend on their service. Unless they provide quality service, it’s hard for them to find new customers.

Good News guys!

When I got a call from Pune two days (2nd Feb) after my service (31st Jan) in the morning, I had explained all my troubles to the person over phone and had given very bad ratings between 5-7 for the work done in my car and guess what within few hours I got a call from the service center asking me to take the car to them and they would resolve all problems. When I said I have no time and may be will take the car on a weekend they even offered me a pickup/drop of the car at my office.

I then decided to take my car and yesterday when I took my car the same service center people behaved in a completely different way. Not only I had my job card within 15 mins of my arrival, they were also very courteous and offered coffee. They got the roof beeding fixed and power window switches on all four doors replaced within half an hour. Then they also offered to wash the car, to which I agreed because,lot of construction work is going on the road to my office and there is  lot of mud and water.

This time they did a very good wash of the overall car, I am now very happy.

I am also attaching the pics of the power window switches which I took at night.The service feedback really works.

I agree the car is very comfortable in this segment and no car comes even near.Lekin, dil mange more!! and so wish it did not had the minor hiccups even.

1. My glove box lock broken out. the delaer said no spares, the entire tray had to be replaced for the lock. I dont know why the spares not available for vista. if any thing iam asking for vista the dealer said no spares for vista. WHY?

2. I follow the test for my mileage pankaj. whether i have to ask for any mileage boost up if i mentioned mileage is getting for me pankaj?

Spares for Vista, as I understand, are available.  This particular thing may be out of stock OR your dealer may not have placed an indent for it.

Mileage booster is not really required.  After a couple of services it will improve - also because by then you will be able to drive with more ease & comfort.  These gear-speed ratios will help.  Always measure mileage by tank-full-to-tank-full method.

Recently I’m hearing reverberation in my Vista when driven around 80 kmph in 5th gear. The sound goes off once it crosses 80 kmph. To be precise the reverberation is something like of tuning fork’s. My Vista’s odometer reads ~6400.

The next issue is I could feel a drop in the pick-up at particular speed after the turbo kicks. The pick-up is good for sometime after the turbo kicks and at certain speed the pick-up drops. Like, in 2nd gear the pick up is very good till 30/35 kmph, in 3rd gear it is very good till 50/55kmph, 4th till 60/65 kmph and in 5th till 90kmph. I rarely cross 85/90kmph   The problem is more of in 2nd and 3rd gear. This is not the case in my sister’s vista. No drop in the pick-up as like my Vista. Mods/Experts, what could be the reason?

Check the air filter - it may have clogged up too much.
