There was some issue with steering immediately on the launch.  Steering oil was soon upgraded.  Do get it checked/rectified - conclusively.

Mileage would improve after a couple of servicings.  It generally returns 11-13 in city & 15-17 on highway (depending upon driving conditions & style).

Hi Pankaj, any suggestions/comments on the vista's clutch pedal getting bit harder? Also on the noise issue in the front and rear when the car descends from a speed breaker.

Clutch of Vista is a bit stiff (no issue) - you will soon get used to it.  However, if you feel it has become stiffer than before, there could be some problem with pressure-plate or linkage.

Haven't experienced the noise during the test-drive/drives so can't say for sure.  I'm not very conversant with technical aspects but I think the noise could be due to fouling of 2 parts - most probably the anti-roll bar & body/chassis.  This was encountered in Indigo in initial batches.  The issue can be resolved by adjusting the gap between the two.

Really surprised that even after such long time , TATA has not been able to supply a perfect VISTA . After reading all these i wonder how i got my Indica almost faultless eight years ago !!! And still it is running without any problem . Tata must rectify all problems of Vista .

Tata cars when launched generally have small nagging problems here & there.  Those are resolved/refined in subsequent batches - thereafter no problem.

As such, broadly speaking, this stands true to some extent for other manufacturers/cars also – but not as much as Tata.

You are right Pankaj . It may be true for others also but now a days market is crowded with all types of cars in each segment. Such types of small problems in initial batches not only affect the sales but also the image of a car maker which is far more important.

These days it’s critical but Tata haven't learnt a lesson yet.  Tata should ensure refinement at any cost.  Tata cars are otherwise true VFM.

To my experience I would say TASC people account for some extent of the repeated problems in Vista. Many personnel do not understand the problem we say, if at all they understand, they rectify the problem as a stopgap arrangement. Since they are not conversant with Vista like old Indica, many mess up the things further. Poor PDI also accounts for many problems in Vista. We have two Vistas and for both the cars PDI was not done properly by the dealer.

TATA Motors should seriously review the capabilities and quality of many TASC.

I agree.

By the way, here's a personal personal observation I have already shared in another thread during the course of discussion but thought I should also post it here.…

The AC vents/grills are designed differently – the gaps in grills do not remain constant when the direction is changed (unlike in earlier Indicas).  Besides, the vents are placed a little higher on the dashboard on the upper curve.  The grills, therefore, when opened to the fullest direct over the shoulders aiming upwards.  Though this should not affect the ultimate cooling (whatever), the rear seat occupants may initially feel the AC is less effective.  If the position of grills is adjusted – to direct lower (at chest level or even lower) – the gaps/outlets between the grills reduce restricting the outflow.

I have observed this very recently in a car that was placed inside the showroom but could not test-drive/use the AC & feel/check the above practically.
