I checked the mileage after Gas leak correction. As per my calculation it is turning out to be 14+km/lt - pretty impressive  as compared to earlier 9km/lt.

Gas Leak correction, can you tell us more about this please. Since i have an LPG car too. i Have never experienced this smell issue, but would want to know more about it.

Hi Karan,

As i mentioned earlier i bought my WagonR from True value. When True value delivered this to me, it didn't have LPG. So no check was made from either side. On that very day i got LPG tank full and went for a ride. I noticed that whenever i use to press the gas[accelarator] especially on gear 1 and 2, LPG odour could be sensed. I ignored it for first few days thinking that it could be common but soon realized that i am losing LPG.

I immediately took it to service station and got it checked. True Value's engineers agreed about the leakage and corrected it by changing some components. My car has been working fine since then. Best practice to check for LPG leak would be to open the bonnett and smell for LPG odour. If you smell it, then its time pay visit to your respective retro-fitter.

I hope this answers your query.

thanks,

Pritpal Singh

Yes it does, partly.

My question is , did you try finding out/inquiring which parts were actually replaced ?

The thumb rule you are suggesting is totally right. but just wanted more details.

Maruti servicemen, as it is, do a regular maintainence for the WagonR Duo's when it goes for servicing.

Hi Karan,

I can't recall the component/part but could check my service bill for details. I'll let you know by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Pritpal Singh

Thanks Pritpal, Would wait for your reply

The reason why i am interested is that i too own an LPG vehicle. And since prevention is always better (prevention would in cars, mean maintainence and check-ups) i would like to know before hand what the problem could be in future , "if" it happens.

Cheers.
