Hi All,

I have already booked a fabia 1.2 MPI ambiente, now the delivery is geting delayed by 1 month and I could get the chance to see Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 E+, though i couldnt take a test drive yet but I liked the vehicle overall(Interiors of Fabia are better I belive). Now i have an option of canceling my fabia booking and go for PUNTO. Seriously confused. Dont know which one is better in terms of ride, handling, performance, build quality, interiors.

All the expersts please help!!!

I'd recommend that you go for the GP.  The Fabia is not worth the premium they demand for it, and your post-sales experience with Skoda wont be one to look forward to.

There simply is no reason for anyone to be buying a Fabia.

On top of it, the Punto looks better, has better engine options, and has everything going for it except maybe the interiors (which again is subjective).

No brainer - cancel that Fabia booking when there are so many better options around from manufacturers who dont think that their job ends at selling an economy car at a fat premium.

Keep those wheels turning!

On paper I would say that the GP is better.

But most importantly you have to take a TD of the car once it reaches the showroom and then proceed to book the car.

Hello,

Iam using Fabia diesel and iam very satisfied with it.

But if you are buying a petrol car i will advise you to look for Ritz or i20, and if you are looking for diesel option than choose between Fabia and GP.

And above all if you can wait for 6 months till Jan 2010 than VW Polo will come up with its wonderful petrol 1.2 tsi engine which is gonna be a steal. Iam quite sure that VW is looking at the Indian market very aggressively and they will price the Polo competitively.

Hope it helps.

I dont expect VW to come with a competive pricing on the Golf. It will most probably be a shocker like Jazz.

If a 6 month wait can be done, there is another car i20 diesel. The 1.5 engine is quite powerful.

If I were you, I will go for GP. I will never invest in a company, who charges exhorbitantly for car as well as for spares. Even service is worst in the industry. Agaisnt that, you have some relief to get average service from TATA-FIAT jv. Only car is not be considered, but the repo of the company in service is very important. All the best.

VW Golf 1.2 tsi is expected around 6 - 6.5 L and it is gonna be a better car in all respects compared to the competition including Jazz.
