One can buy a Skoda Fabia for badge value. Car is excellent in quality and performance is decent but most importantly Skoda Badge... brand value. If money is not a problem (2-3k per annum hardly matters these days) Fabia is great car.

@ Uneet

Thanks for your suggestions, can you please show me some evidence of 1.2 MPI engine stalling issue. Actually this car was satisfying all my needs. Because I dont want to go for classic version. Please help me if you have some latest update. I heard this problem was mostly in 1.4 MPI engine. A lac more would tight my budget actually Frown

@ Kumar

The members can only give suggession. If you found its not worth/enough, you take your call. Most of the member warned you already about the skoda behaviour. If you still want to go with skoda God can only help u.

if you want more horror skoda stories just use google

Only 232 fabia's are produced in the month of May'09 and if you look at the figure from Jan'09 to May'09 its keep on decreasing..

So whats the reason they are giving for the delay.. is it because of excess demand or they are not producing at all !

Hi Pramod,

VW has shifted the manufacturing plant from Aurangabad(Maharashtra) to Pune. That is causing the delay. and the,New manufacturing plant will produce VW Polo as well by January, 2010. And I appreciate and understand you comments, because its really tough to go with my decision after hearing so many negative feedbacks, but believe me i talked to almost 15 fabia owner's and everyone was satisfied. And the crieteria for me in such a small car for this budget is only fulfilled by FABIA. Now the indian car market has become so mature and big, the competition and opprtunity for all the car manufacturer are big, SKODA is no exception. I am hoping their service and indian market strategy to imrove gradually. Because i dont think these all negative feedback for so many people despite having good product will not alarm them. Honda Jazz is the other car which i liked, but its way beyond my budget.

So, lets hope for the best and wish me a good luck for my new FABIA Smile

Shifting doesn't mean a company will stop production.

All the Best for your purchase. Please do post your owner ship, intial and other experience here.

Also do a PDI and note down the VIN number. Make sure the car is from the latest lot, c'se skoda may sell their old stocks

go to this site when u get your VIN number and check it

http://igorweb.org/vindec/

I hope u have enough time before the delivery of Fabia meantime TD the Hyundai i20 Asta

Hi Pramod,

Thanks for the valuable info, I will surely check the VIN number. And I have already taken the test drive of Hyundai i20, i found two probs for the highway drive i found it less stable than fabia, and the rear legroom is not good enough. Ride and handling quality in FABIA is little better, also steering in i20 seems good for city driving but on highways it looks over assisted. You know, I am going to take this vehicle with positive frame of mind. The service interval for FABIA is 15000 KM.

Dear Kumar,

I had a same dilemma before choosing the car. Fabia was my first choice, i20 is a second and then I seriously considered Punto emotion pack. But finally booked i20 Asta . I will agree with you that Fabia’s ride and handing quality is slightly better than i20 but rare room of both the cars is almost equal. I wish you all the best for your new Fabia.

Which show room in Bangalore you booked your car? I found Service at Skoda showroom on Hosur road quite good.
