VW has two options - 1  Play price card  & 2 - Bring latest technology .

It seems that option 1 is very unlikely as they have to position themselves above all including Skoda & this will lead them to 6-8 lacs range. To justify that premium pricing , they must have to bring latest technology . So it is very likely that TSI & TDI will make way instead of current Fabia engines.

Another option is to bring two diffrent engines catering lower as well as upper segments like 3 cylinder engine for 4.5 to 6 lacs range & 1.2 TSI for 8 lacs .

Polo with 1.2 Tsi then it should be around 7 lakh, but what about the target price of VW at 4.35 lakh promised by them, well its really confusing, we've to wait till auto expo for what really going to be under the hood of VW Polo India.

Internationally (UK) website

The engines available are

1) 1.2L 60PS

2) 1.2L 70PS

3) 1.2L TSI 105PS

4) 1.4L 85PS

5) 1.4L 85PS + DSG

6) 1.6L TDI 75PS

7) 1.6L TDI 90PS

Are we going to get only these? or just 1,2 and 6?

And looking at the prices on the UK website and with stripping of certain items and localization.

Am i hearing another JAZZZZZZZZZZZZ pricing? Yell

The 1.2 L 70 PS engine will likely fall into 5 lakh category, apart from that other engines meontioned above will not get the excise duty benefits in India, and Volkswagen would be considering the 1.2 70 PS engine which is v weak when compared to its rivals, but still VW has to introduce Indian version Polo with that only, anyway all our questions will be answered only at Auto Expo, we'll hope VW surprises us with 1.2 TSi and Bluemotion Disel engines.Cool

I will be going to the VW dealer today here, if I get any more news than we already know. Shall post it. I am desparately waiting for the Polo - I have put on hold my buy for over 5 months now thanks to VW. I will be really really disappointed if its another Jazz !

Manju, thank you for the link. The pics are BEAUTIFUL.

Yes I did check with dealer here, they are not accepting any pre-booking token amount. Expected to start the bookings by Jan end or so. Also, the speculated range for the Polo by dealer was 4.5 to 9 L. (That is high)
