I have to disagree on certain points. As per information available in the literature of these bulbs Xenon consume only 35 watts per bulb, and they generate less heat. Plese confirm. The problem with these bulbs is that they are not availbel with bi filaments-for high & dip beams. So you are forced to make major alterations with DIY kits etc

No Rasheed, there is no issue with regards to high beam and low beam alterations.

The whole and soul purpose of High and low beam is to avoid direct glare to oncoming traffic, which is achieved by using a cutoff plate which itself is controlled by a Solenoid fitted inside Bixenon projectors[hence the name]

Usually we see single xenon projectors coupled with reflectors in Skodas, camry and the likes to overcome absence of Bixenons.

Clever engineering has made it possible for people to bypass this set up and use only the Bixenon projector lamps for both the purposes, simply by putting a metal plate to achieve a cutoff for use in low beam so that glare is avoided.

@Dr.Abyshines : Very well said. This should fill the gap that people have when in comes to the difference between a projector and a HID kit.

Dear Mr.Prathap,

Recently I had my bulbs replaced with 100/90 Haogen Bulbs without making any holes anywhere. The Electrician could manage to push the Extra tension wire through the original route and now there is no problem. This was done in Coimbatore. I am happy with the present 100/90 Halogen Bulbs.

I was looking for a good fog lamp;unfortunately I couldn't find any. If I come accross one I will definitely post my comments on that

Dr.Ramanan Earat

You do not have to approach any electrician if you canfind a special wiring harness marketed by 'ROOTS" - the horn people. It is a do it yourself kit
