That is a nice piece of information on Xenon lamps.

The FAQ style is really effective.

You can live in your car, but you can't drive your house.

The price of the bulbs depend on the type(H4/H8 etc) and the brand.

Bosch is a reputed brand as far as Xenons are considered, dont plonk your money on Chinese makes.

Car Palace and Motor Plaza would be two car acces shops in TVM to look out for.

There is a new place at Pattom(power)-dont have an personal experience with tem.

If possible source the same from abroad-thats the safest and cheapest bet i have seen.

both these people source it from a philips distributor in ekm. It would probably be cheaper to get it directly from them

Interesting discussion, this.

I just had a pair of HIDs (35W, 6000k, H3) fitted onto the spot lamps of my Safari as I have had enough of being blinded by assorted morons on our highways, particularly by the Swaraj Mazdas and other trucks and buses with FOUR headlamps on high all the time.  In Tamil Nadu even the state RTC buses seem to have 4 headlamps - isnt this illegal?

So I plonked in my Rs.3,600/- H3 HIDs into my Wipac spotlamps (not onto my headlamp as I dont want to use them all the time) and I get instant respect from those morons.  6000k HIDs on a pencil-beam spotlamp is quite blinding and the jerks driving those things immediately switch to low.

I dont like to do this, but I'm afraid this is the only way out on our indisciplined roads where people have no sense of courtesy.  I'm quite happy with the results and I dont have to use the lamps all the time - though I had them switched on most of the time on the dark (and horribly broken) roads of Coorg in the middle of the night.  It turned night into day!

Keep those wheels turning!

Hi,

Well, if you need to have real good vision and also maintain a street legal beem on your car.. you can upgrade yourself with the After market projectors also.

I got my esteem done with single projector and Angel eyes.. and I have a hell lot of vision and also... people outside the car have no problems whatsoever even when I am on High Beam
