1. first suggestion.. go to any lengthy forum post that has 3-4 pages you see naviation links like pages 1, 2, 3 and 4 . actually there is very short gap between these links and being a number there is few area to click so I have to be very careful that i am clicking on 2 instead of 3 .. 3 might be clicked .. so I suggest you to create a ractangle hotspot(invisible area of click) like flickr.com and little more gap will be more user friendly too

2.I think you are using tiny_mce WYSIWYG editor to write forum posts .. it has also a free plugin called "spellchecker" .. it corrects spelling with typing.. install it .. its another good user friendlyoption and prevent us to write wrong english.

3. and most important.. open a "Environment or Global warming" or the kind of topic in the forum.. we are selling , promoting cars .. cleaning environment is as big issue as terrorism even more than this. Net Geo reports that by 2035 Ganga's existence will no longer.. save earth ,our mother land and spread knowledge through the forum .. we can discuss like how can we make our vehicle environment friendly and so on .. lets do it.

Hey Amit,

thats a good point you have brought up about the global warming thing. The report on non existence of Ganga is really worrying. I too support the idea of having a thread on the global warming where we can discuss things about recycling wastes and any sort of activity which helps the environment get better and counter global warming.

A thread/discussion on global warming is a good idea.  Amit, please take the initiative and start one in the General Discussion - here's a LINK to do that.  Soon others will join in.

Other suggestions are good & will soon be noticed by Banwari.

Thanks.

Pankaj, isn't it appropriate to place this thread under "Help us improve" section.

Talking about environmental effects, one thing that I can propose is to change the background color - LCD monitors consume lesser power while displying darker colors and of late, a lot of websites are promoting and even changing to a black background with a white font - I don't know how the site will look like though - Will leave the call to be taken by Banwari and others.

Regards,

K Prasad

Agree with prasad on the black background thing but not sure how much it will affect the visibility of carwale. Also google has already taken a lead in this and released a site www.blackle.com. This is same as google search engine but has a black background which helps save energy. Just have a lookSmile

@Amit,

I thought I had replied to the original post. In fact I remember writing the post, maybe either I forgot to hit "Reply" button or it didn't go through. Anyways,

1. Valid point. Noted.

2. Yes, we are using Tiny MCE. We tried implementing spell-checker but couldn't make it for some reason. Will retry.

3. Agreed. Maybe we can have a new forum for this purpose. We can try including threads like car pooling etc as well?

@Sri,

It's not Google behind blackle.com, it's some other organization. They are using Google Custom Search. Black page doesn't save energy in case of new technology monitors such as LCD and LED. There are hardly any CRTs left! Anyway, we can have a black theme for forum.
