Many go for it after 6 months or so - the logic is (which I fully endorse) - manufacturing defect, if any, would surface by then.  In my opinion you should go for retrofitment after 6 months, therefore.

I second you on this pankaj, thats why i said after the third service -which generally takes 6 months to 1 year and by that time you get to know your car better according to your requirements.

Yes, it will definately void the warranty of the car- again, as i said one should always think about the "compromises" he/she will be doing before making a descision on this thing.

Hi Nilesh..in delhi many maruti  dealers do fitting of cng at their own service centres like service masters..they also provide you with full company warranty but they charge extramoney for it.If you get cng fitted with maruti dealers it will cost you sum one around Rs 50,000 instead of Rs 35,000 from outside....ask your dealer about that.

Oh, I should have related so Smile

Amit, I do not know the finer details but I understand that there is no harm in getting the retrofitment done from outside - provided the retrofitter is an expert - it would save substantially on the cost.  The kit (original Italian is best), retrofitment/workmanship quality & maintenance is what ultimately matters.  I think you & Varun would by & large agree on this.

Hi Pankaj.no doubt that getting cng fitted with expert is the main thing and saving money is also important...i was only saying that getting cng installed through maruti dealers helps in keeping the warranty intact.

Very true (warranty).  But I think even outside retrofitters extend some warranty & even the kit comes with warranty.  The difference in the cost is substantial - in percentage terms.

We are discussing our views/perceptions - nothing in the form of agreement or disagreement Smile
