Hi,

I am looking for suggestions on getting a good audio system for my Swift Dzire Lxi. My budget is about 20k and I am in Hyderabad.

I am looking for a HU with USB and 4 speakers.

I have currently narrowed down to

Blaunpunkt Kingston (8500/)

Polk DB690 for rear

JBL Component for front

Bosch Wiring

I prefer listening with clarity and usually listen to AR rahman.

So far I have read that component install is most important and so any suggestions for good installer in hyderabad is also welcome.

My dealer was also suggesting a infinity set instead of Polk DB690 for 1 k more. ARe they better?

Infinity or Polk - Your ears should be the judge. I would recommend 691 over 690.

Check minister's road for good installer.

The HU is fine, I would prefer 5150 over the Blau because of the better features.

Rest all are fine.

Thanks Ami.

Any idea on price difference between 690 and 691? And what is better in 691? I couldn't find any difference in the wattage or sensitivity?

Also, I have a spare XPLOD 222W 2 channel Amp. Would putting it in to power either front or back help?

If yes, which one should I power more?

The car will be self driven.

The price difference is 500 between the ovals. There are no differences on paper. My ear says that 691 is better. (It is subjective).

The spare amp can be used to power the front comps.

Rather than S265C prefer GTO 608C. GTO series is higher than GT5.

Hi,

I finally got my system installed.

The config is

Pioneer 3190 (All dealers pushed me away from buying blaupunkt saying it is closing) I am still not sure why I agreed ...

Rear as DB 691. Most had only 690 and had a tough time locating this one.

Front as JBL 608c powered by my old 2 channel Sony Amp. I heard these and JBL 265c and 608c are definitely better. Thanks.

Overall sound is good. I have still in my mind that blaupunkt would have sounded better ..

My installer said it would sound the same but I can change my amplifier with a 4 channel one to get much better effect instead.

Overall, with original JBL Amplifier wire kit and skoch RCA everything costed me 20,500/-

I got it installed from Chequered flags.

All speakers and units are with warranty.

Blaupunkt thing is news to me!!!

3150 is a good HU. Dont have to worry on that front.

4 Channel would make the sound all the more better and will bring the polks more lively. Try and see if you can exchange it.

I hope you are satisfied with the setup!!

Do post some pictures and a small experience.

Keep the volumes at low levels for a week or two. The speakers need to settle in well.

Thx so far. I will post the pictures. I just showed it locally. Basically, the bass effect is not coming out well even after setting all HU configurations.

One diagnosis I am getting is that Dzire's inbuilt plank has 6 inches speaker slots and it is built for fitting speakers from under and not top. The polk 6x9 have been fitted from top with an open oval rest. The boot is seeing only the round magnet and not the full speakers.

Is above the only way to fit the 6x9 into Dzire?

Or will the speakers automatically settle in 1-2 weeks and start giving better bass?

Put the SLA to +4. Check the bass settings. The speakers will offer good bass.

Other methods would be cutting the panel and fixing it/fixing it from below. I would prefer these two methods.

Here the culprit should be the fitting of the speakers. Ovals need a lot of space to move. That is how the bass is generated well.

Dzire has a metal panel so cutting is not an option.

Can 6x9 be fitted from below?

The speaker also has a metal mesh on top. There is only a 6" hole.

I have played with bass settings, loudness level, equalizer and SLA with not much use.

Do you have any reference to pic of 6x9 speakers in Dzire?
