Hi

I am new to buying cars. I was planning to buy a second hand wagon R. Now I am changing my mind to buy a new one with a budget of around 4 L. Should I buy a new Wagon R and then fit a LPG kit seperately or buy Duo or buy Astar or Estilo or i10 Era ?  Kindly guide me through this process.

I have heard complaints that A* is not spacious eventhough mileage is good.  What is the difference between A* Lxi/Vxi and Zxi ?

Also for i10 Era or Magna which is better ?

Hello Venkat,

Welcome to carwale. it is always better to go in for the wagon r duo rather than buy a second hand and get it retrofitted with the LPG kit. Between just to inform you LPG causes early wear and tear of engines and is higher on maintenance as well. If you do not have a very high run stay clear of LPG/CNG. LPG/CNG are only beneficial only when there is very high running involved.

For the differences between the different variants of A* have a look at this link

I10 era and magna are marginally different and that too only on the features inside. you can have a look at this link

Also you do mention your drive preferences like monthly usage, number of people etc. It will help in suggesting a more appropriate car.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I will be travelling around 25 to 30 km per day. Occassional long drives from Bangalore to Mysore, Chennai etc.. once in a while. It should be good enough for family of 4 or 5 people. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall. Hope legspace will be good.

Also sufficient space for luggage is needed for long drives.

I also heard about tata indica vista (new one) which also is around 4 Lakhs. I am confused now to decide between Maruthi AStar/Wagon R (Normal or Duo) / Hyundai i10 and Tata Indica vista.

Thanks

Vista is a VFM car. SO that will be a good choice. It has loads of space- both inside the cabin and in the boot. Since you are so tall you should definitely have a look at the vista and test drive it once. Rule out the A* as it is low on space. Test drive the i10 and the vista and then decide

If space/comfort is your priority then Vista is the best. Take a test drive of Hyunai i10, Indica Vista & Chevy Spark.

Hi

Thanks for your replies.I am planning to go an test drive for Indica Vista and i 10 this weekend.  Can someone compare the milage of Vista with i10 ? Also vista comes in 3 variants (1.2 Safire, 1.3 Quadrajet and 1.4 TDI). Only 1.2 Safire fits in my budget .Is it a diesel one or petrol one ?

Also can i know the comparison interiors of vista vs i 10 ?

Thanks

Even i had the same confusion regarding Vista and i10 era. Even posted a thread on this on carwale.

As everyone is saying, if space and VFM is seen there is no match to vista. The only problem i had with Vista was its name i.e., Indica which is nowadays synonymous with a "CAB".

Other than this i think Vista is way better than i10 .

I too agree that Vista is way better than i10 Era, But If its was 1.2magna, then i would have gone with 1.2 magna!!

Check reviews written by owners/users - have a look in the Review Section.
