Went for test drive on saturday :

First it was tata indica safire Aura. First fully loaded car with 4.5 L  budget. It is as spacious as swift, has lumbar support, tiltable steering, height adjustable driver seat, decent ICE also. Fiat Engine was very smooth.

then went for i10. i10 gear box was too smooth for my liking . looks like I have to adjust myself if i buy it.  Also the guy in the hyundai showroom advised to go for i10 magna. he said instead of era u can buy normal santro GLS top end itself as both use same IRDE engine.

I am now inclined towards Vista Safire. However, of late i have been reading about AC issues in the Vista series. Has that been resolved ? Also how about servicing of Tata cars ? Is it as good as Maruti/Hyundai. Are there a number of service centers in and around the country ?

Also Which of the two is better i10 Magna or Vista Safire ? Vista Sufaire's features are really amazing for the money that we pay. Only concern is about service centers and AC issues.

there are no "isssues" as such with the AC in vista. Just that the rear row cooling is reportedly not that good. Servicing is not a problem at all. It is not as good as maruti/hyundai but they are catching up and improving a lot. service centers are decent in numbers. as compared to the i10, vista will be loaded with features and more spacious as well.

Hi

Thanks for the spontaneous reply

Also one more thing. My family members are concerned that they have not seen any vista safire on the road at all in Bangalore. All the new cars they see is either i10 or swift or wagonr. So having a tough time convincing them about vista. Can someone come up with a good explanation for this ?  Are there more vistas in North than in South India ... Here in Bangalore its either a maruti car or Hyundai car for all hatches. All tata cars are only cabs (indica or indicab) .

Check AC - as stated by Centaur - it's less effective at the rear.  Otherwise, it's fine - a true VFM (Value for Money) car - pricing/package.  Performance is very decent & space/comfort is excellent.

The taxi image goes with Indica V2 - not Vista.

Take a test-drive with family.

Went for another round of test drive on i10 ,. Vista Safire and WagonR. Finally decided on i10 sportz. BOoked the same yesterdy by paying 10k. Have to appraoch SBI for loan tomorrow. Thanks to carwale for helping me to decide Cool

On road price in Bangalore : 4.82 Lakhs  (after zero insurance offer)

Got the following accesories for free

Floor mat, mud flap, perfume, remote central locking, steering wheel cover, body cover, teflon coating.

Sunfilm --> 3M one . I had to pay 1300 extra . The dealer told he is giving it at cost price.

Do you think its a good deal ? Also have i missed out any accesories?  Also sportz comes with a 2 DIN system. BUt  unfortunately no USB port. Is it possible to get a cable to USB converter ? It comes with 1 round axial port.

Also can some one point me to a link where i can get a pre delivery check list ?

I fell the deal is a good one. You have pretty much got most of the accessories as well. I think there are cables available in the market for the conversion you are looking for. Not completely sure though. You may have to do some searching with some car accessory shops or electronic shops to see if you are lucky.
For the pre delivery check list have a look at this link.

U got a very good deal, I visited Hyundai and maruti dealer in pune before finalising the car, I took a TD of swift and i10. Trust me, no dealer is giving so many freebies here in pune, I dont knw why? Mostly they offer mats and mudflaps, a couple of them might also offer you stearing cover and perfums worth 300 bucks. I went through a nunber of threads, people in south like bangalore, hyderabad, chennai, get very good freebies! lucky guys, I booked a swift and trust me the dealer is not even giving me basic accesorises like mudflaps and mattingUndecided
