Dear Sugunakar,

1. Indica V2 Turbo DLG has HVAC or 'Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning'. This is the system that provides cooling along with Heating and Ventilating. It provides you heating when there is cold outside and cooling when its hot outside. It automatically adjusts the climate inside as per the outside climate.

2. Though there is not huge difference between the two but yes, TC Indica has a bit lesser fuel economy.

3. 1/2-1 kmpl lesser than Non-turbo Indica.

Dear Sugunakar,

Turbo-charged Indica produces more sound due to the turbocharger. But the price you pay in terms of noise gives you great performance back. Turbocharged cars are faster as compared to their non-turbo counterparts.

Power steering has no risk-factor as such. No it doesn't get jammed or anything.

Now heres' an important piece of information for all,  actually when this question was asked, at that time only one types of turbo chargers existed in indian cars, FIXED geometry turbochargers that switches on after a certain RPM like 3000 or above, but now all must have heard the term VGT in the verna and sonata CRDi engine, VGT stands for Variable geometry turbo i.e. the turbo comes into play even at very low RPM, so now you all know the secret  why Verna pushes you into the seat when the accelerator is pressed at any gear; because the turbo is always on and still giving a great economy. The fiesta, swift diesel, tata, skoda cars all use FIXED GEOMETRY turbochargers while the hyundai and Mercedes uses VGT upto now. There is no difference between the T.C and non T.C cars before certain RPM in cars like indica with fixed geometry.

Thanx Anurag !!...well that was some very very uselful info to me !!....thanx a ton !!...

So Bhanwari sir/Anurag,in cars like Indica (wher fixed Geometry turbochargers are used)... The Turbo models pickup and sound would be identical to that of the non-turbo models uptil 3000 RPM ??

So going for going for Fixed Geometry Turbo cars straight away means ...PAY More ... GEt a better pickup...and a little less efficiancy ??....

or any other difference such as maintainence, wear and tear,or life on the engine ???....

A little correction here, the newly launched Tata INDIGO Dicor has VGT.

According to the information i have, there is no difference in the sound of the engine in with the Turbocharger. The efficiency, as you said, is slightly less which can be ignored. Pumpe duse is actually VGT thing. No effects on engine and requires same maintenance as other diesel. Turbocharger gives the boost by creating a pressure to inject the fuel inside cylinders.
