Hi All,

Has somebody done a comparison of Innova vs. Xylo vs. Safari Dicor (GX)? If yes, please do point it out to me?

Regards

Ram

What is the intended usage for the vehicle?  Innova v/s Xylo I can understand - how did the Safari come into the equation?

If its predominantly for city usage you might want to consider the Scorpio SLX which is more VFM than the Safari GLX.  You dont need 4wd anyway.

If its predominantly for inter-city or medium-to-long distance running the Safari would be the automatic choice, especially if bad roads are involved.  Else the Innova/Xylo/Scorpio can do the job quite well.

The Safari is slightly on the larger side for purely (or mostly) INTRA-city usage.  Parking can be a problem, and its engine/gearing is more suited to long distance driving.

If much offroading isn't involved then Innova stands out.

I agree with what Steeroid mentioned. The Safari is a car suitable for inter city and long distance travel. The car has larger turning radius, making it a bit difficult to steer across the city and the gear ratios are calculated keeping the highway in mind.

I only wish, if the Safari's gear ratios were intermediate ( acompromise between ity and highways) and the car had smaller turning radius like its other sibling (Tata Xenon).

I won't personally suggest the xylo because of its handling. Innova is a good option, but the ride for the rear passengers isn't very comfortable.

I will suggest the Safari.

I tried this and I had understeer, I tried that and I had oversteer, at the end of the corner I just ran out of talent!

dont see a point in comparing SUVs with MUVs when the purpose of the SUVs and MUVs are totally different

An accident is generally the result of a screw loose in the nut behind the steering wheel

...the ride for the rear passengers isn't very comfortable.

Still it is better than the other cars under consideration.

Hi, Ram Prasad, for driving vehical inside city, smaller is always better. Why you carry loads of mass everyday in city when you are not travelling too much on highway. Buy the car which is smallest in size and has best turning radious and soft steering. From your listed types of vehicle, Scorpio is best option. However if you can compromise in your choice, I will suggest you to go for Sedan like ANHC or Linea. All the best.
