Hi all,

I just bought new indica vista safire aura from Navi Mumbai. However I've a concern.

The guys @ petrol pumps are normally in hurry to fill the petrol and the petrol comes out of the pipe with great force. Could this petrol stream with hight force damage any parts inside the fuel tank.

I came to know this from one of my friends who own a ford icon that filling the tank with full pressure may damage some pipes/circuits in fuel tank. He himself had a problem during a filling session.

Moderators and Users, please tell me if this is true.

Thanks in advance !

Have never heard or come accross such incident which has occured due to force of the petrol.

The problem faced by your friend might have been due to some other technical reason as what I feel ....

I dont think this is possible...Smile

Thanks for quick reply,

One more doubt,

Is it possible to get the motors inside the power windows damaged by a forced water stream while washing the car ?? this may sound silly but I really don't know much about cars and their systems..

Well... While washing the car , they normally wash ONLY the Extereior Metal body alongwith the Engine cabin & door sides which again are of Metal with water, the inside of the car is usully cleaned with only Jet AIR or with Vaccume cleaner , so its highly unlikely to get water inside the Power window...

But certainly if some one tried to wash it with water Power sprey frm inside....Guess what .... You are right.....It can happan I am sure.....Smile

from washing outside with windows tightly closed, it really shouldnt damage

If someone opens the door show excessive love on inner part of door and washes,it definitely does

if some one carelessly open windows and wash the car and water leaking into inside of door, its deifintely spoil the party

our zen has  autocop power windows,it was damaged by carefull washing of worker over fewdays ..we had to shell out some 4k rs for its replacements

Nikhil- there wont be any problem to the parts inside the tank-infact the force is not variable and its constant across all dispensers.

Problems might arise from overfilling though-something called 'Vapour lock' also might stimulate a mechanical problem.

About the motors-yes thats a possibility-they can get damaged.

Yeah overfilling sounds like an issue. but i guess the force depends on the switch at the handle of the dispenser...

You can always request/instruct them to fill slowly & steadily.

LoL. Yes, that was possible earlier in manually operated ones - would rarely find those now.

Thanks for correcting / pointing out.
