Hi guys,

The information available so far reveals that the GP MJD will be a 75 Bhp FGT. This means it will be the same engine as the one in Swift DDis. Any idea about the expected pricing of GP diesel?

Looking at the very competitively priced Ritz diesel (priced just below Swift), FIAT needs to come up with a killer price for GP. Ex-showroom prices for Swift Vdi and Ritz Vdi are 5.17L and 4.99L respectively.

I think the Dynamic trim is the one most will opt for in the GP and my guess is it will be some 5.7-6L (ex-showroom).

Other members please throw some light on it.

Regards

Hi guys,

The FIAT website states that GP is coming soon. Check out.

http://www.fiat-india.com/

Eagerly waiting for the diesel GP. It will be way beyond my budget, but i think its worth a dekko.

Else will settle for good ol' i10 sportz.

Hi,

I got to know that Honda will be launching JAZZ only in one variant (i.e., the top-end model) with ABS and Airbags (this was confirmed by Magnum Honda, Bangalore). This will be launched with 1.2 i-VTEC engine, which generates 90PS.

I got to know from Concorde that FIAT will be launching much awaited "Grande Punto" only with petrol variant 1.2 FIRE engine, which generates 65PS and not with Diesel version, as Palio is already been placed under Diesel variant. They might also stop Palio Stile Petrol version, once they launch Punto in petrol version.

Considering all factors: Petrol-Petrol Machines.. I would vote for HONDA JAZZ.

My heart will always go for MJD

Very un-Honda-ish but quite possible.

I doubt it. But if it is actually the case, it would be disastrous for Fiat as well as Fiat fans in India. A car of Punto's size and calibre deserves better engines. 1.2L 65ps in Punto will make it run worse than Palio 1.2.

Dear Moderator,

Can you also comment on Honda Jazz price -- The dealer in Bangalore has told me on road price as 7.25 to 7.5lakh. How is this price?

As per the dealer I can book the vehicle by paying 50,000/- today and then expect delivery by June end.

Need your advice.

Naveen , i really doubt what Concorde said. And rightly said by Banwarilal that all Fiat fans will be disappointed.

@Sujit,

If the car is coming in only one version as mentioned by Naveen, the price range of 7.25-7.5L on-road in Bangalore sounds about right. As far as booking is concerned, I would suggest you wait till 10th for car's launch. If you are satisfied by all means, you can book the car, the delivery period will be delayed by 10 days max. If you are anyway going in for Jazz, booking today makes sense.

Hi Guys,

I think GP diesel is the one most are waiting for. Even FIAT must be knowing that. I dont think they will be launching only the (underpowered) petrol.

Looking at the success the diesel Linea is enjoying, FIAT will be more than eager to cash in on the popularity of their MJD engine.

My only concern is how will i manage my finances to afford a GP dieselFrown. Hope its not too tempting. Waiting for the initial reviews and road tests. But let it be launched soon. Cant wait much longer.

Regards

That is a bit weird - I spoke to one of the owners of the Honda showroom in Bombay and he assured me that everything is strictly under wraps as far as this model is concerned - they are not sure about the pricing but the rumors floating around range from 5.5 to 7.5 lakhs....which is a rather substantial difference...so I wonder how the dealer in Bangalore is so sure...

Thanks Banwari for your reply.

It makes sense to wait till 10th June ---
