Interpreting chassis number - LETS HELP EACH OTHER

Hi,

Is there any difference in chassis number to differentiate between indica and indicab ?From prashant's first post , 600132 ch.no starting is for Indica DLE ?So ,for Indicab ,they got another number?Especially ,the car in case is from 2002 .

Can you guys help me decode VIN for my I10 Sportz. As per the decoding in one of the reply  10th Digit gives Year of Manfacturing.

VIN - MALAN51CLAMXXXXXX

but in this its A  and not a digit. I have seen few 2009 and 2008 I10 and they have 10th digit as 9 and 8 resp. I am not sure if they have changed decoding from Jan 2010.

Salesman has assured me that its 2010 car but still i want to confirm . Tomorrow will dealer register the car.

This might well be a new nomenclature.

As the 10th digit represent year, 2010 would come as 0 which would have already been given for the year 2000.

Could you let me know how this was decoded?THis is out of  curiosity . The manufacturer certificate reads as manufactured in April 2010, but does not mention the date. How this was decoded?
