Hi Prasanth,

I too noticed the same in an Indica Vista QJet model. The chassis number is 6114529PDXXXXX. Will the 9PD translate to

9 - Year (2009)

P - Pune

D - Month (April)

Do you have any confirmation from other vista owners. Please let us know so that we can be sure of the manufacure month and year before going in for a new car.

Thanks,

Maddy

I think Prasanth is right. Because, the chassis # of my Vista Aqua QJD is 61142bqzpxxxxx. I interpreted it as Feb 2009 manufactured car. Hope I'm right Smile.

Prashanth,

Have you seen this query by any other member. I am asking this because by default the dealers are setting up vehicles with the old chassis number. Only when one decodes and asks them if they have a newer vehicle do they come up with vehicles with this chassis number. That is the reason i put forward this query.

Thanks,

Maddy

Madhusudan had rightly mentioned about the dealers putting up the old vehicles in display and sell it off as a recently manufactured car.

When I went for booking my vista in Apr 2009, I was shown a Nov 2008 manufactured car. As i wanted a 2009 model car, and no other Aqua model was available at that time, I had to wait for 15 days after paying the advance.

When I went for the final settlement in May, I was surprised to see that the Nov 2008 car was beautifully wrapped with satin ribbons and was on the display. When I enquired about that car, I was told that car had been already sold as a 2009 model. Cheated an innocent Vista ownerFrown
