Now my IKON - 1.3 FLAIR is giving me a problem from past 10 days..

All of a sudden one fine day there was loss of power - the car vibrates a lot, no power at all.. need to use only 1'st and 2'nd gear to move till 40km/hr and then it will go easy in 3'rd and 4'th gear.. but max speed is just 60km/hr and that all.. does not move uphill -- even in first gear.. very bad.. even the cycles overtake me sometimes.. and no pickup at all.. so cant overtake any one.. if i start the A/C - car stops.

i showed it to a mechanic on the way - who said ignition coil gone.. and then my regular mechanic said ignition coil is good - cleaned the air filter, fuel filter - and still the same problem.

he suggested me to get the scanning done on the car to see if sensors are good. - then the scanning guy said hi input to one of the sensors and low to the other - he erased it and told me to try for 2 days..  still the same case.. no improvements..

yesterday - the 2'nd day all of a sudden there was power... and back to the josh machine.. but im still not sure if the problem is solved.. just wait and watch.. coz the scanning guy said he will have to check in detail if it doesnt work.....

any of you guys can provide an insight??

There is certainly something wrong with fuelling.

Not much more can be added to the scanned details available at your side.

Give more details like, how old is the car, KMs done. fuel type used etc.

Could it be the fuel pump connections are loose? Just guessing...

I think you would possibly need to replace clutch plates.

Yesterday, it started with the same problem again - power loss - had to use 2'nd gear to move in 20-30km/hr and the vehicle was making noise - dug-dug dug ...

So i parked vehicle on the side of the road, with the engine on and keeping in neutral - raised the accelerator for 1-2 mins thinking that might clear any carbon etc - like i used to do with my bike.. and then there was this plastic burning smell ...

but guess what- it was back to normal after that - and even today it was smooth with full of power..

is this due to some carbon deposoit/unburned fuel etc etc??? since i dont know much about this - if you guys can think of this as something - do let me know.

Thx

Smell of un-burnt fuel would mean excess & improper injection of fuel - something wrong with the FIP (fuel injection pump) - it may require to be reset.  Air & fuel filters you have already replaced.

The car is most probably running a rich mixture-has your FE come down recently?

No I didnt notice my FE coming down - since I expected it to be down as I used it in 2/3'rd gear most of the times because of this problem..

Resetting the FIP >.?? Can a regular mechanic do this or needs a special place like the HISCAN center??

It's advisable to get it done through the dealer - even dealer may send it to some specialised mechanic/garage.

However, the dealer/mechanic needs to identify the problem first.  The above are just possibilities indicated / suggested.
