not understanding 1 thing, why TATA..sorry TATA Motors (just because of 1 company, I can't blame the group of companies) is giving plastic components near the gear box. In other cars it is steel.

Roy no need to feel Ashamed on ur decision. the only thing which i can understand that there is some where miss handling of the car as u said previouslly it was being Driven by Driver. Might be he didn't handled it properlly or he though its tough & he used like others Diesel cars of tata. but its a good car & there are many Proud owners for Vista Safire. Also, you said abt the plastic parts near gear box so, i guess only costlied cars are using the metle or steel near the gear box like Skoda & honda etc. other wise mid-range or low budget cars are always using plastic  to make the appearense nice & imprasive.

Rachit,

Mileage of Vista Petrol in city is 12 km/l. we had servicing after 1000 km and we did not change the engine oil. Dealer is saying that there is no need to change the engine oil before 10000 km. But I know that after changing the engine oil mileage will increase.

Thanks.

Roy

Roy is right. I am too getting mileage of around 11-12 km/l in city and in long run it gives around 13-14 km/l with my Vista Suffire. One thing is that we must understand handling of this vehicle. It is actually rugged vehicle. At the same time we have to keep tab on all electronic sensors. They are little delicate. Otherwise this is jammmm of a vehicle. Space wise it's 2BHK and it's real VFM. Good Luck to all new buyers.

The mileage derived on highway is on the lower side.  It generally returns 15-17 (depending upon the driving conditions & style).

I got the Mileage of 17 KM/L on Delhi-Chandigarh Highway. with 80% A/C on.

& that true in Cities its some where around 12-13 with A/C.

As per Engine oil is Concerned TML is recommending no need to change Engine oil they just Add 1 top-up oil that is Booster Oil near abt. 400-500 ML worth Rs 500 to provide the extra Lubricantion to Engine oil.

  • I test drove vista thrice. All the time i felt this same problem with AC.When i asked the executive abt this ,he told me that as it isa demo car , AC gas will be less.I asked to show me a car which is ready for customer. That car also showed the same problem. But older indica and indigoCS have good AC.But I think i10 has the best AC.

Here is the solution -- Remember most of the service people are unable to solve the problem. The solution is -- there is a power cut off after reaching a certain level of temperature in your AC. Due to manufacturing defect that cut off is happening before reaching the desired temperature level. So your AC is not cool. This needs to be fixed. So to the service people just say this much and ask to repair it. They will be able to understand I think. My car Vista AC was fixed.

@SRoy : what temp have you set your A/C cut off on?

My Indica Vista Quadrajet Aura is 9 months old, and it has done 12000 kms.

I have done mostly city driving in Bangalore. I am overall satisfied with it. I have the following 2 issues. Otherwise, the car is good.

1. Steering is hard while taking sharp turn at very low speed, say 3-5 kms/hour.

2. Thud sound comes from the back when I go over road humps, and sometimes when brake is applied. Dealer says it is due to shaking of fuel.
