Cool  Ya! Y'day I travelled with my Vista for 30kms in single stretch. Out of which at least 15kms I was on speed of 100 kmph. Its superb. No jerks, no sound. Even on bumpy roads it was really smooth. Excellent road grip.

You mean there's something wrong with the sensor (?) that reads the temperature achieved, and cuts-off & on.

I think it was rectified in your case.  Can you please elaborate.

Pankaj, My AC used to cut before reaching desired temperature level. Now the problem is fixed.

Milind..Don't drive your car too fast before 1st servicing. Because the lubricant oil is gathering iron particles from your engine now. If you run too fast then instead of smoothing, those particles will create scratches to every movable parts. During 1st servicing remove that lubricant oil containing iron particles and fill new lubricant. Then you can drive fast. BTW, how about the AC? Is it working fine?

Thanks.

Roy

Yes Milind, Roy has a point.  During the 1st 1000kms, i.e. running-in period, do not exceed speed above 70/75.  On highway / long drives, drive steadily & keep varying the speed a little between 55/60 to 70/75.

And also get the AC checked / rectified like Roy did.

Smile Thank you for advise Pankaj & S Roy. I will maintain the speed.

During my driving I have also noticed that with AC on, speed reduces noticeably. This I spoke to Tata dealer here in Goa, who has asked me to bring vehicle for checking. Will update you all later.

It would depend upon the gear & speed you are driving at.  It should not reduce more than 5 kms (max).

My indica VISTA (quadrajet diesel) has been driven 1400 kmsi and is 20 days old. Right from the day of delivery, the AC is not efficient.
Although it cools well in evening and at night, it is ineffectine during day time. It trips off and the starts frequently. I visited TATA authorised service centre-
First they told that that AC is OK, although the grill temperature was 22 C.
Next visit, they told that gas is low, so they charged the gas. But cooling was still same.
On Next visit they told that gas is too much so they released some gas. But cooling was the same & grill temperature was 19 C.
The service advisor then talked to BEHR India limited (the company AC belongs to), he was told that the EXPANSOR VALVE might be clogged. So it was opened but was found to be neat & clean.
Again TATA people contacted BEHR and were then told that the EXPANSOR VALVE & RD might need replacement.
I fear that the TATA AUTHORISED people are not able to IDENTIFY & RECTIFY the defect in BRAND NEW car. Kindly Advise

Your thread has been merged in to another/old thread on the subject matter/issue - go through the discussions from page #1 onwards.

This problem has been reported by many users - it is less effective in the afternoons - especially at the rear seat.

Hope Tata resolve it immediately - else, it will affect the charm that Vista enjoys otherwise.

Hi to all. My AC is working quite ok in the evening and whenever I park car in shed. It is advisable to drive with all window glasses open for 5 min. and then put on AC and after nearly 1-2 min. close all the glasses. I think you should get sufficient coolness. (Though I cannot rulled out that overall AC performance is not well.) TATA's must look seriusly into Vista's AC problem and rectify same in all the vehicles they sold by now.

I have noticed that pick up is also a problem in my SAFIRE. Has any one came across it? Pl narrate your experience.

I am hopefull that after first servicing things will move smoothly.
